Trunker is a unique character in the classic video game Banjo-Kazooie, a coconut tree adorned with a distinctive turban, located on a small island near the entrance platform in the game’s sixth world, Gobi’s Valley. Upon meeting the protagonists, Trunker expresses his extreme thirst, which immediately captures the player’s attention. Initially, the heroic duo is at a loss about how to help Trunker. Banjo tries to offer him some Feathers and Blue Eggs but he politely declines, explaining that only water can quench his thirst. However, Kazooie, the red breegull, is less sympathetic and makes a sarcastic remark, getting her a scolding from Banjo. Nonetheless, Banjo is determined to find a way to help Trunker, and so the quest to satisfy his thirst begins. After freeing Gobi, who was trapped on a platform next to the Memory-Puzzle Pyramid, and making him run to Trunker’s Island, Gobi remarks that Trunker looks dry but that he needs all his water for himself. To get the water from Gobi, the player must stand on Gobi and perform Kazooie’s Beak Buster on his back causing him to spit out his stash of water onto Trunker. As a result, Trunker grows tall and reveals a Jiggy on his head, which the protagonists can reach most easily by climbing the nearest palm tree and using Kazooie’s Feathery Flap or by using the Flight Pad on Jinxy’s back and landing on Trunker’s head. Trunker’s character is unique, and his memorable design and quirky personality have made him a small favorite in the Banjo-Kazooie community. Players will always remember Trunker’s thirst and the resulting Jiggy, adding to the game’s cast of memorable characters.
