Saucer of Peril

The Saucer of Peril is an anomalous flying saucer that exhibits a degree of sentience, and serves as one of the mini-games within the world Witchyworld. Initially, the Saucer of Peril is trapped in a crate located within the fuel depot of Glitter Gulch Mine, and requires Banjo and Kazooie to clear the tunnel’s blockage to access it. Afterward, the Saucer of Peril will hover towards a tunnel that leads outside to Witchyworld, but will not be able to leave due to the closed door. Upon opening the door, the Saucer of Peril is freed from the crate but reports a power shortage that causes the mini-game to be temporarily closed. With Mumbo Jumbo’s assistance the power is restored and allows them to ride the Saucer of Peril in a mini-game, where they shoot different colored targets for points. The Saucer of Peril rewards the duo with a Jiggy if they score five-hundred points or a Cheato Page if they score at least four-hundred points. Furthermore, the Saucer of Peril can be ridden for recreational purposes by Banjo and Kazooie after the mini-game is completed. In the game Banjo-Pilot, the Saucer of Peril is used as a potent weapon by the racers, crashing into the first-place racer with greater force than a standard Fire Egg. The Saucer of Peril makes a return in Banjo-Kazooie Nuts and Bolts, where it is shown to have been previously crashed by Captain Blubber in the game’s hub world Showdown Town. In the world Terrarium of Terror, the character Alien Boggy hosts a Jiggy-Challenge called The Saucer Of Peril Returns, where the protagonists rides a custom-made vehicle resembling the Saucer of Peril. In this Jiggy-Challenge Banjo and Kazooie must complete the Saucer of Peril’s mini-game in the same way as in Banjo-Tooie, while the route takes them through various domes of Terrarium of Terror and even into space.
