Guffo is a special character encountered in the game Banjo-Tooie, the second installment of the Banjo-Kazooie franchise. Residing within Cloud Cuckooland, the game’s eighth world, Guffo can be found inside a colossal trash can. Accessing this area requires activating the Kazooie switch near the entrance door. Upon entering the can, Kazooie becomes Guffo’s first-ever visitor, a fact that brings him great joy. Furthermore, Guffo’s predicament stems from facing eviction due to an overwhelming infestation of germs within his dwelling. Consequently, he implores the breegull to assist in eliminating the unwanted invaders. This task involves engaging in a mini-game, akin to several others featured in Banjo-Tooie, where the objective is to defeat enemies of various colors to accumulate a specific number of points. Upon achieving the designated goal, Guffo gratefully rewards Kazooie with a rare Jiggy, a valuable collectible in the game. An interesting glitch occurs if Kazooie were to shoot a Clockwork Kazooie Egg into the bottle of Jolly’s Juice, exit through the resulting opening, and subsequently re-enter the big Trash Can. On occasion, Guffo will express surprise at not witnessing Kazooie’s entrance through the door, asking her to leave and re-enter properly. This behavior is a programming oversight, as the game assumes that anyone entering from the rear is Banjo, aligning with the expected behavior when using the Shack Pack ability. In the game Banjo-Kazooie Nuts & Bolts, Guffo’s Trash Can makes a return appearance within the third world known as Banjoland. Here, it serves as a focal point for a Jiggy-Challenge presented by Boggy. During the challenge, the Trash Can expels various discarded objects, compelling the protagonists to construct a vehicle to swiftly return the items to the trash can in order to obtain a Jiggy or T.T. Trophy. Located adjacent to the Massive Trash Can is a sign clarifying its identity as the home of Guffo, a discarded can of beans in Banjo-Tooie. Moreover, it references the previous instance where Guffo sought Kazooie’s aid in addressing the unfortunate germ infestation.
