Superstash

Superstash is a character who got first introduced in the game Banjo-Tooie, which was released for the Nintendo 64 and later for the Xbox 360. Embedded within Cloud Cuckooland, Superstash adds to the game’s inventive and quirky atmosphere. There he takes the form of a large, sentient safe, featuring a pair of googly eyes that bring it to life. This safe is not just an ordinary object but a character with a personality, willing to assist Banjo and Kazooie. Superstash’s main purpose is to safeguard a precious Jiggy, a golden puzzle piece which is vital for progression. However, this talking safe faces a dilemma as it has forgotten its own combination, rendering it unable to fulfill its actual purpose. The combination that he has forgotten is a nod to the year 1984, which could be a reference to a significant event or simply a random sequence chosen by the developers to engage players. To retrieve the golden Jiggy, players must embark on a mini-quest within Cloud Cuckooland. The task requires Banjo and Kazooie to find four hidden switches scattered around the vast world. Each switch is marked with a single digit, collectively making up the combination to Superstash. These switches must be activated either by performing Kazooie’s Beak Buster or Bill Drill, or by employing the Clockwork Kazooie Eggs, which are a unique type of ammo allowing players to control a miniature, mechanical version of Kazooie. The player is tasked with shooting the eggs, steering the Clockwork Kazooie towards the switches and ensuring it detonates while positioned on top of them. The order in which these switches are hit doesn’t matter, which adds a layer of flexibility to the puzzle. After the combination is entered correctly, Superstash gratefully relinquishes the shiny Jiggy, allowing Banjo and Kazooie to continue their adventure.
