The first transformation that Banjo and Kazooie can use in the game Banjo-Kazooie is known as the Termite Form, which is located in the world Mumbo’s Mountain. This transformation requires players to collect five Mumbo Tokens, which can be found throughout the game’s various worlds in order to be utilized. It has limited application, as it can only be used in Mumbo’s Mountain and the surrounding areas in Gruntilda’s Lair. Despite its limitations, the Termite Form proves to be a useful tool in many situations. One of its primary abilities is its remarkable climbing power, which allows it to scale steep ledges such as those found in Ticker’s Tower. This feature is particularly helpful in accessing hard-to-reach sections and collecting valuable Jiggies that would otherwise be inaccessible to the protagonists in their normal form. In fact, the Termite Form is the only way to get the Jiggy located on top of Ticker’s Tower. Another notable advantage of the Termite Form is its ability to explore underwater environments with ease. As an insect, the termite is capable of surviving underwater for extended periods of time without requiring oxygen to breathe as Banjo and Kazooie do. This makes it an ideal choice for retrieving items that have sunk to the bottom of bodies of water. Additionally, it is impervious to damage from falling from high places, which can be useful in certain parts of the game. It’s worth noting that other Tickers in the game often take notice of the Termite Form’s special appearance, expressing envy at the insect’s backpack and shorts. This is true even of Ticker in the lair, which serves as a testament to the distinctiveness of the Form. Overall, while the Termite Form has limited application in Banjo-Kazooie, it nonetheless serves as a useful tool in certain circumstances. Its climbing and underwater abilities, as well as its ability to fall from heights without sustaining damage make it a valuable transformation.
