Blue Eggs are a commonly used weapon featured in the Banjo-Kazooie games and have been a beloved aspect of the series since the original game’s debut. These Blue Eggs have a multitude of uses, from defeating enemies and bosses to completing puzzle-like objectives throughout the game’s worlds. In Banjo-Kazooie, players first encounter Blue Eggs in Mumbo’s Mountain, where they are taught how to use them by the character Bottles. Kazooie, one of the protagonists, can fire Blue Eggs from either her mouth or backside by pressing different buttons. Also, players can carry up to one-hundred Blue Eggs which is increased to two-hundred after entering the Cheato Code Blueeggs in the Sandcastle found in Treasure Trove Cove. However, this requires players to find and access Cheato, who is hidden within Gruntilda’s Lair. The hiding spot of Cheato can be found concealed in a tunnel adjacent to Freezeezy Peak’s puzzle, and can only be accessed by using Bubblegloop Swamp’s crocodile transformation. However, before players are able to enter the tunnel, they must first destroy the ice cube obstructing the entrance, which can be achieved by using Banjo and Kazooie’s attack techniques. Upon entering the small tunnel, players will find Cheato, who rewards them with the Blueeggs code. In the sequel game Banjo-Tooie, Blue Eggs were improved with a new control scheme, allowing the protagonists to use them in first-person mode. Players encounter Jamjars, Bottles brother, in Mayahem Temple, where he teaches them how to use the Egg-Aiming technique. Furthermore by obtaining five Cheato Pages and bringing them to Cheato, players can unlock the Cheato Code Eggs, which increases the number of eggs Banjo and Kazooie can carry from one-hundred to two-hundred. Also, the egg collection system in Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Kazooie Grunty’s Revenge requires the protagonists to collect eggs one by one. However, in the sequel game Banjo-Tooie, players are able to collect them in groups making it easier to acquire a larger quantity of eggs at once. In Banjo-Kazooie Nuts & Bolts, Blue Eggs are used as weapons to attach to players’ vehicles, introducing an entirely new dynamic to its gameplay. Blue Eggs have become a signature part of the Banjo-Kazooie franchise, receiving several enhancements throughout the years to make them more dynamic and engaging.
