Rat-a-tat Rap

650px BannerPlaceholder

Rat-a-tat Rap is a combat ability performed by executing a jump and subsequently pressing the B button, or simply pressing the B button while airborne. During this technique, Banjo assumes a lowered posture, allowing Kazooie to deliver a series of precise pecks to enemies. Renowned for its swift execution and substantial damage output, the Rat-a-tat Rap ability serves as an optimal offensive attack for vanquishing a wide range of enemies, provided they possess the necessary height for the attack to reach them. In certain instances, the Rat-a-tat Rap ability can serve as a valuable alternative to the Feathery Flap move when trying to traverse extensive distances while airborne. Although it lacks the vertical propulsion capabilities of the Feathery Flap, the Rat-a-tat Rap ability enables to cover greater horizontal distances without descending, particularly when initiated with a running start. Also, it’s worth noting that the Rat-a-tat Rap can be executed while employing the Talon Trot in Banjo-Kazooie, offering an additional layer of versatility and offensive options compared to the Feathery Flap technique. Furthermore, the Rat-a-tat Rap has made its appearance in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as part of Banjo and Kazooie’s moveset, specifically serving as their neutral and back aerial attacks. On the ground, the Rat-a-tat Rap ability follows Banjo’s Claw Swipe attack, with Kazooie pecking at the opponent to accumulate damage. While airborne, the Rat-a-tat Rap enables them to strike the opponent up to three times, with the final hit delivering a greater impact than the preceding two strikes. In the video game Banjo-Kazooie Grunty’s Revenge, the Rat-a-tat Rap makes a return as well and can be obtained from Bozzeye located in Bad Magic Bayou for 210 Musical Notes. To execute this move, the player must press the B button while in midair, operating in a manner akin to its predecessors. Moreover, it’s worth mentioning that the Rat-a-tat Rap serves as an answer to one of the questions posed in Grunty’s Furnace Fun game hosted by the witch near the culmination of the first Banjo-Kazooie game.
