Shack Pack

Shack Pack made its very first debut in Banjo-Tooie, the second installment of the Banjo-Kazooie video game franchise. It’s taught to players by the in-game instructor Jamjars within the world of Hailfire Peaks, specifically on the Lava Side. To acquire this technique, players must interact with a hatch while controlling Banjo, requiring a minimum collection of 640 Musical Notes. Once these requirements are met, players can simply use the Shack Pack maneuver by holding the Z button and subsequently pressing the C down button. This causes Banjo to use his backpack, enabling him to move around and execute jumps while being covered by it. The primary advantage of this ability lies in its capacity to safeguard Banjo from perilous liquids such as scalding or poisonous water. In addition to providing protection against hazardous obstacles, Shack Pack also results in a reduction in Banjo’s movement speed and jumping height. Moreover, the Shack Pack allows Banjo to access confined spaces that are typically only accessible through the use of Kazooie’s Clockwork Eggs. The strategic implementation of the Shack Pack technique is evident in various scenarios throughout the adventure. For instance, in Hailfire Peaks on the Lava Side, players can submerge Banjo safely in scalding water to press a Banjo Switch, subsequently releasing warm water into Piggles and Trotty’s pool in Jolly Roger’s Lagoon or obtaining a boiled fish for Boggy in exchange for a Jiggy. On the Icy Side of Hailfire Peaks, Banjo can utilize the Shack Pack to enter a hole within a pipe near the yellow crane, granting access to the Waste Disposal Plant in Grunty Industries and securing a valuable Jiggy. Cloud Cuckooland also presents multiple opportunities where the Shack Pack proves invaluable. It facilitates entry into openings such as the jelly-made Castle or the small tunnel inside the Cheese wedge, allowing players to retrieve two Jiggies.
