Freezeezy Peak

Freezeezy Peak is a winter wonderland and the fifth world that players can discover in the video game Banjo-Kazooie. This icy terrain is accessible through the game’s hub world Gruntilda’s Lair and is centered around Christmas festivities, with a massive snowman located in the heart of the world. Despite its festive atmosphere, Freezeezy Peak offers challenging obstacles for players to overcome, such as frigid waters that can harm them or slippery platforms that can easily cause a fall. The massive snowman is adorned with many collectibles, such as Musical Notes and Red Feathers, which they can gather by exploring his scarf. Additionally, Freezeezy Peak introduces players to new supportive characters, including Boggy’s kids, who task players with finding all of the Christmas presents scattered throughout Freezeezy Peak. Twinklies, who require protection from the three hungry Twinkly Munchers, are also present, and players must help them decorate the big Christmas Tree situated in front of the snowman. Furthermore, Wozza, a walrus, is looking for another walrus friend and will gift him his valuable Jiggy. The world also features Bottles, who can be found near the Stack of Presents, and will teach the player the Beak Bomb ability, which can be used while in the air. The entrance door to Freezeezy Peak is situated on the right side of the Cobweb Room, which can be accessed through an advent calendar. To unlock the entrance door, players must complete the picture of Freezeezy Peak by collecting eight Jiggies, which can be found in a small room accessible through a pipe, located behind the third world Bubblegloop Swamp. In Freezeezy Peak, players will also come across Mumbo’s Skull, where they can access Mumbo’s transformation services and turn Banjo and Kazooie into a walrus. This transformation allows players to participate in Boggy’s race, enter Wozza’s Cave, and walk through icy water.

» Stop 'n' Swop in Freezeezy Peak

In the Banjo-Kazooie franchise, players can uncover a special and mysterious feature known as Stop ‘n’ Swop. This special feature involves six different colored mystery eggs and a large ice key that unlocks various rewards for players in sequel games, including the games Banjo-Tooie and Banjo-Kazooie Nuts and Bolts. Typically, these mystery eggs and the key cannot be found by the player, unless a specific code is entered inside the Sandcastle of Treasure Trove Cove. It can be challenging to enter the correct code, due to its length and one single mistake means the player must start over again from the beginning. Also, it’s worth noting that while entering these codes the platforms on the ground will not change color or play any tune, after players used Kazooie’s Beak Buster. One of these special codes is related to the world Freezeezy Peak, causing the ice wall behind the orange Jinjo to melt in Wozza’s Cave. This will allow the protagonists to climb up the alcove above Wozza by using the Flap Flip technique. Once at the top of the alcove, players will gain access to a tunnel, wherein they can retrieve the big Ice Key of Stop ‘n’ Swop. However if players attempt to climb the alcove without inputting the code within the Sandcastle of Treasure Trove Cove, they can still witness the large ice key rotating on a platform. Unfortunately, players will not be able to enter the small tunnel as it is blocked by an impassable thick ice wall.
