Mad Monster Mansion is the eerie seventh world of the popular Banjo-Kazooie game, accessible through Gruntilda’s Lair. This Halloween-themed location poses various challenges for the player such as a daunting green maze inhabited by ghostly entities that can only be defeated by using Kazooie’s Wonderwing. The centerpiece of Mad Monster Mansion is a haunted mansion that has fallen into disrepair, complete with several breakable windows that the protagonists can explore for valuable collectibles. Behind the mansion there is a spooky graveyard and a Haunted Church that opens when the player presses a switch located next to an old fountain. The player must act quickly and use the White Turbo Trainers nearby to reach the church’s door before it closes once the switch is pressed. To enter the world, the player must locate the entrance, which is cunningly concealed within the Gruntilda Head, a room filled with dangerous lava. Also, it’s the area where players can find the puzzle of Gobi’s Valley. To unlock the world Mad Monster Mansion Banjo and Kazooie must complete the world’s picture, which is tucked away in a red-colored pipe located in the lobby of Rusty Bucket Bay, and needs the collection of any ten Jiggies in the game. Although Bottles, the player’s mole mentor, does not teach any new techniques in the world Mad Monster Mansion, it does feature Mumbo Jumbo’s Skull. By paying twenty Mumbo Tokens, the player can transform Banjo and Kazooie into a pumpkin, allowing them to fit into tight spaces and navigate hazardous terrain, such as toxic water and thorny hedges in order to find valuable collectibles.
» Stop 'n' Swop in Mad Monster Mansion
In the Banjo-Kazooie franchise, players can uncover a special and mysterious feature known as Stop ‘n’ Swop. This special feature involves six different colored mystery eggs and a large ice key that unlocks various rewards for players in sequel games, including the games Banjo-Tooie and Banjo-Kazooie Nuts and Bolts. Typically, these mystery eggs and the key cannot be found by the player, unless a specific code is entered inside the Sandcastle of Treasure Trove Cove. It can be challenging to enter the correct code, due to its length and one single mistake means the player must start over again from the beginning. Also, it’s worth noting that while entering these codes the platforms on the ground will not change color or play any tune, after players used Kazooie’s Beak Buster. Two of these codes are related to the world Mad Monster Mansion. By inputting the first code, the player can find the green mystery egg, which is tucked away in Grunty’s Bathroom within the Haunted Mansion. The green egg can be found perched above Loggo, a talking toilet who serves as a unique character within the game. The second code will unlock a previously inaccessible section within the cellar of the Haunted Mansion. This section can only be accessed by circling around the Haunted Mansion until reaching a dead end, where players must perform the Beak Buster technique to break through a wooden door on the ground. Inside the cellar, the player must navigate down the stony stairs and find a missing barrel top on the left side. The top of the barrel will lead to a very small room where the cyan mystery egg can be found resting on a platform surrounded by some water. However, without the activation of the code, the way to the small mystery room will remain blocked, and the top of the wooden barrel will remain locked.
