Achievements are a special way to reward players for completing certain tasks, with the goal of encouraging them to continue playing through the game. Each achievement requires the player to complete a different task, ranging from simple ones like participating in a mini-game to more challenging objectives like finding all of the game’s collectibles or completing the game within a certain time frame. Some achievements may require the player to create an additional save file as they can’t be obtained in a single playthrough or may be missed due to the non-replayability of certain parts of the game. Online services such as Xbox Network have implemented a system for achievements, which rewards a player with a specific amount of Gamerscores for unlocking achievements in a game. These achievements serve as a record of the player’s progress, which can be shared with friends. Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass Quests allows all subscribed players to earn Reward Points by completing tasks related to unlocking achievements in Xbox Game Pass games. These points can be redeemed either for future months of Xbox Game Pass or Xbox Live Gold, but also for donations to selected charities or entries in sweepstakes. Players can unlock a total of twelve achievements in Banjo-Tooie, that are worth two-hundred Gamerscore Points.
