Breegull Beach is a serene and picturesque world in the handheld game Banjo-Kazooie Grunty’s Revenge, the second world accessible through the game’s hub world Spiral Mountain. The vast expanse of sandy terrain boasts of a vibrant atmosphere that sets it apart from the previous one called Cliff Farm. The world is appropriately themed around a beach and features a massive hill as its centerpiece. It’s surrounded by many caves, each with its own secret discoveries, including Grunty’s Quarry. Some of these caves can only be accessed by transforming Banjo and Kazooie into a mouse, adding to the excitement of exploration. At the bottom of Breegull Beach is a vast ocean, dotted with towering stone pillars that hold collectibles such as Musical Notes, Jinjos and Jiggies. However, Banjo and Kazooie must beware of dangerous enemies named Shrapnels that chase and detonate on contact. Furthermore, bubbling spots in the ocean provide a gateway to underwater treasures like an old wooden ship holding a Jiggy and Musical Notes. To the right of Mumbo’s Skull is a dock with a golden skull on the ground. Here, Banjo and Kazooie can take on the Ghost Pirate after learning the Egg Aiming ability from Bozzeye. The vines on the wall next to the entrance door lead the protagonists to Breegull Peak, where they can explore an old temple known as the Grubby Chute. The entrance to Breegull Beach is located in the bottom left part of Spiral Mountain and is inside a wall after walking across the bridge. To gain access, players must collect six Jiggies and activate the Crystal Jiggy inside the Jiggywiggy Temple, thereby breaking the magic seal blocking the door of Breegull Beach. With its picturesque landscape and exciting discoveries, Breegull Beach serves as a great location to explore, while its sandy terrain, vibrant atmosphere, and thrilling challenges make it an ideal world to hone one’s platforming skills.
» Gruntilda in Breegull Beach
Breegull Beach is not only a peaceful place for Banjo and Kazooie, but also the place where they face the evil Gruntilda for the first time. Gruntilda has gone back in time to prevent the bear and bird from ever meeting, and has kidnapped Kazooie. The only way to rescue Banjo’s friend is to confront Mecha-Gruntilda and defeat her in battle. She can be found in Grunty’s Quarry, which is accessible by entering the cave on the right side of Mumbo’s Skull. Once inside the quarry, Banjo must navigate through obstacles and enemies until he reaches the green tower. Climbing up the ladder of the tower and jumping on the tall pillar on the right side will reveal a switch that must be pressed performing Banjo’s Pack Whack ability. Pressing the switch activates a platform on the ground below the pillar, which leads Banjo to a secret section of Grunty’s Quarry. It is here where Banjo will face Mecha-Gruntilda for the first time in a battle for Kazooie’s freedom. Once the evil witch is defeated, she will surrender and fly away to escape from Banjo, freeing Kazooie from the iron cage. This pivotal moment not only allows Banjo to rescue her friend Kazooie but also grants them access to all of the techniques in the game from Bozzeye. As most of these abilities require both Banjo and Kazooie to perform, Kazooie is crucial to progress in the game, like Shock Spring Pads to reach high-located platforms, which can only be executed with Kazooie’s help.
