Cheato Pages are a rare collectible that appear in the game Banjo-Tooie and Banjo-Pilot. These pages are the lost pages of the red magical book called Cheato, which aided the protagonists in their last adventure. In Banjo-Tooie, Gruntilda Winkybunion, in a fit of rage, ripped out most of the pages, scattering them across the eight worlds of the game, with three Cheato Pages located in each world and one hidden in Spiral Mountain. Cheato tells the protagonists the current situation and offers them the chance to receive codes, which can be entered inside the Code Chamber of Mayahem Temple. For every five Cheato Pages returned to Cheato by Banjo and Kazooie, he will give them one of his special codes in exchange. It is worth noting that players must first earn the codes from Cheato before they can enter them inside the Code Chamber of the game’s second world, Mayahem Temple, or else they’ll receive a message from Cheato informing them that they must first find his Cheato Pages to use the following code. In the game Banjo-Pilot, Cheato sells a variety of content for the game, such as characters, battle tracks, and other items, all of which can be purchased using the in-game currency of Cheato Pages. In order to earn Cheato Pages in Banjo-Pilot, players must participate in races, with the number of pages earned based on their performance and final race placement. Also, each track in the game features five Musical Notes which increase the total amount of Cheato Pages earned at the end of a completed race.

» Cheato Codes in Banjo-Tooie

In Banjo-Tooie, players have the chance to come across the red book Cheato, who can be found within Gruntilda’s Lair. However, due to Gruntilda’s destructive actions, Gruntilda’s Lair has been left in shambles. This means that players have to use a Flight Pad within Spiral Mountain or climb up the broken wooden bridge, to access the area where Cheato resides. Upon meeting Cheato for the first time, players are informed that he is willing to offer help but unfortunately, the wicked witch has torn out all of his pages. As a result, he requests players to find all of his lost pages and return them to him. In return for every five pages that are brought back, Cheato offers one of his valuable codes. These codes can be entered inside the Code Chamber found in the Jade Snake Grove of Mayahem Temple. The chamber becomes accessible once Mumbo Jumbo’s magic has been used on the Golden Goliath to kick open the door blocking the passage. An alternative way of opening the stone door is by using Grenade Eggs, which can be acquired in the Pine Grove of the game’s hub world. To activate a code, players must first spell out the word Cheato and then enter the respective code backward by shooting eggs at the letters. By interacting with the sign located on the right side, players can either toggle cheats on or off. In the re-released version of Banjo-Tooie, Jamjars cautions players that activating a code will disable the auto-save function and also prevents them from uploading any achieved scores to the game’s leaderboards.
