Dr. Puzz

Dr. Puzz is a brilliant and inventive scientist who plays a crucial role as an ally in the Yooka-Laylee series. After a mishap with her D.N.Ray machine, she became a human-octopus hybrid, but it is unknown which half is her original form. Her blue eyes and black eyelashes are complemented by the top portion of her head colored violet, and freckles on her face. A large fishbowl filled with water and a goldfish sits atop her head, and four tendrils surround the bottom of her head. Four red octopus tentacles protrude from the sleeves of her white laboratory coat, which is coated in multicolored blotches. Underneath her white coat, she wears a yellow tight top with a black skull on the front, paired with black tights. Before Hivory Towers acquired Quack Corp, Dr. Puzz was a research scientist and an associate of Dr. Quack. However, after the buyout, Dr. Quack betrayed her by stealing all of her research and leaving her without a word. In a show of payback against Dr. Quack, she now assists Yooka and Laylee on their journey. Dr. Puzz can be found in all of the game’s worlds in Yooka-Laylee, providing the protagonists with a unique transformation in each one through the use of the D.N.Ray. To function, the D.N.Ray requires a Mollycool, which can also be found hidden in each world but close to Dr. Puzz. In Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair, she returns to aid the protagonists once again by providing a state change for the Wild Web Woods Grand Tome. She also created multiple Checkmates, a robot that acts as a checkpoint in worlds that will support Yooka and Laylee. As the inventor of the D.N.Ray, she is a highly skilled scientist and engineer. Despite Dr. Puzz’s absent-minded streak, which sometimes results in unexpected transformations, she remains optimistic and never seems to be bothered by her human-octopus form. She harbors a significant amount of hostility towards Dr. Quack after his betrayal. Although she is now an ally of Yooka and Laylee, the memory of Dr. Quack’s treachery remains fresh in her mind. Despite this, she continues to help the duo as they navigate through the various worlds.
