The cosmic realm known as Galleon Galaxy serves as the fifth playable world within the popular game Yooka-Laylee. Accessible through the hub world Hivory Towers, Galleon Galaxy features a space-themed environment with elements of space piracy. The world is comprised of numerous islands, perilously surrounded by treacherous waters. Each island within Galleon Galaxy boasts a significant construction, such as the Velocity Terminal, featuring numerous slides, or the Black Hole-in-One, where Yooka and Laylee must maneuver a massive golf ball through a course filled with various obstacles before time expires. At the heart of the world lies a sizable island housing a lighthouse. Pressing a switch on this island enables the lighthouse’s beacon, guiding Dr. Puzz’s vessel towards it, allowing players to use her transformation services. This transformation grants Yooka and Laylee a Spaceship form, providing safe passage through the hazardous waters and equipping them with three distinct weapons capable of destroying obstacles and unlocking new areas or valuable collectibles. Some familiar characters, such as Shovel Knight and Nimble from Tribalstack Tropics, make a return in Galleon Galaxy, affording Yooka and Laylee the opportunity to earn additional Pagies, essential collectibles within the game. To discover the Grand Tome of Galleon Galaxy, players have to navigate over the toxic ooze near Trowzer, following its path until reaching a previously unexplored section of the Hivory Towers. Within Galleon Galaxy, Yooka and Laylee encounter Trowzer once again, who imparts a new ability known as the Sonar Shield. This useful ability, available for one hundred Quills, provides immunity against hazardous terrains and obstacles such as lasers and poisonous water. Unlocking access to Galleon Galaxy requires the protagonists to gather twelve Pagies and stand upon the podium before the Grand Tome. Upon unlocking the Grand Tome, players can expand it using Pagies, which generates new structures and sections, providing the protagonists with opportunities for further exploratory endeavors.

» Expansion of Galleon Galaxy

Upon unlocking the Grand Tome of Galleon Galaxy, players have the opportunity to expand their gameplay experience by using fifteen Pagies on the podium of the Grand Tome. This expansion unveils a multitude of previously concealed structures and elements that significantly enrich the world. Upon entering Galleon Galaxy, players are introduced to Shell, the enigmatic Spacewitch who graciously offers a concise tour of the newly unveiled additions through a sequence. Among the noteworthy additions is the Blamphibian Weapon, where Shell reveals that the Blamphibians have covertly constructed a powerful weapon housed within a planet. To obtain a Pagie, players must undertake the essential task of dismantling this weapon. Another captivating edifice within the expanded world is the Velocity Terminal, a massive dome housing an array of colossal slides adorned with distinct obstacles. Moreover, this area conceals the elusive Pirate Treasure, adding an enticing layer of discovery. The Black Hole in One provides yet another remarkable structure within the expanded Galleon Galaxy. Here, Yooka and Laylee must navigate a golf ball through a challenging course, aiming to land it in a designated hole within a specified time. Accomplishing this feat rewards players with a Pagie. Additionally, players encounter Skull Island, an expansive mountain housing the renowned character Shovel Knight. They are tasked with assisting Shovel Knight by finding three keys, which in turn unlock a Pagie that is tantalizingly concealed behind a grid in close proximity to him. In addition, it serves as the hub for Rextro’s Arcade Machine, where players can indulge in his latest minigame called Up ‘N’ Nova. As the expansion unfolds, players have the opportunity to engage in a thrilling encounter within a field of asteroids, where they can vanquish the character Moonie to trigger a gripping battle against the world’s boss Planette.
