This dry and hot section here known as Gobi’s Valley is the sixth playable world in Banjo-Kazooie and accessible through Gruntilda’s Lair. The world is themed by Egypt and the burning deserts and counts as one of the most difficult levels in the game. Upon entering Gobi’s Valley, Banjo and Kazooie will come face to face a dried palm tree known as Trunker, who is asking for water. The world has a few pyramids where Banjo and Kazooie have to solve tricky puzzles in order to get a Jiggy as a reward or access to new sections, where they’ll find more tricky puzzles like memory games or even traps. In the center of the world there is another pyramid called King Sandybutt’s Tomb that must be revealed first by shooting blue eggs inside the sphinx statues located around the pillar. It is a maze where Banjo and Kazooie must reach the exit as fast as possible before the spikes from the wall will hit the ground or else they will instantly lose all health points and have to restart collecting all the Musical Notes again. In Gobi’s Valley the Duo can discover the last move of the game from Bottles, teaching them how to use the white Turbo Trainers. The entrance door to Gobi’s Valley is located in the room after entering the two hundred sixty Note Door and can be unlocked by completing the picture of it, which needs a total of nine Jiggies. The picture of Gobi’s Valley can be found in the big lava room that is accessible through the huge Gruntilda Head that is located in the Cobweb Room. Like Clanker’s Cavern, the world doesn’t feature Mumbo’s Skull so there is no way for Banjo and Kazooie to use his transformation service.

» Stop ‘n’ Swop in Gobi’s Valley

Gobi’s Valley is one of the locations that contain one of the mysterious items of the Stop ‘n’ Swop series, which is the blue mystery egg. The egg is hiding in a small tomb located in an alcove next to Jinxy, where Banjo and Kazooie can find some Musical Notes as well as Gobi who will spit out an Extra Honeycomb when they Beak Bust his back after helping Trunker to get some water. As soon as the Jiggy of the Sandcastle got collected and the unique code got entered without any mistakes, the door leading to the tomb next to Jinxy will be open. After that, a short sequence will be shown for a few seconds and confirm the player that the code worked. While the sequence appears, it will also show the player the hiding spot of the blue mystery egg so it’s recommended at this point to keep the spot in mind. Probably you already noticed the door of the tomb before but you weren’t able to enter it until now. Once you enter the tomb, the egg can be found inside a sarcophagus and must be opened by pressing a switch on the ground.
