Glitterglaze Glacier, a chilly and frosty location, serves as the second playable world in the game Yooka-Laylee and is accessible through the hub world, Hivory Towers. This wintry environment is adorned with Christmas-themed structures and elements, featuring multiple castles, caves and igloos. Unlike other snowy worlds like Freezeezy Peak from Banjo-Kazooie, the protagonists can swim through the water without any harm. Explorers will discover various points of interest within this world. Glitterglaze Lake, a prominent feature, supports the slippery Icymetric Path that leads to the grand Icymetric Palace. Glittertrio Towers, an area with icy floors and thawed grass along a snowy shore, showcases three tall towers in a line formation, while each tower houses a unique item. At the far north of the map, Igloo Cliff awaits, connected to the three tall towers. It consists of a river, a few igloos, and serves as the meeting place for the protagonists and Clara Lost. The Frozen Path, found near the entrance of Glitterglaze Glacier, is an icy trail within a cave. It spans a considerable distance, and the temperature is dangerously low. This path acts as the primary route to reach the Igloo Cliffs. However, access to the Igloo Cliffs is granted only when all the fire pits in the room are lit. Within the world, Yooka and Laylee encounter Trowzer, an instructor who offers two new techniques for a price. The first one, called Slurp State, can be acquired for forty Quills. It allows Yooka to temporarily change his state by slurping up objects like Cannonballs to increase his weight. The second ability, Lizard Leap, also priced at forty Quills, empowers Yooka to store energy in his tail, enabling him to jump to high places that are otherwise unreachable. To enter the world Glitterglaze Glacier, players have to collect three Pagies and present themselves atop the podium before the Grand Tome, found in the Publication Station of Hivory Towers. Once the world is unlocked, Yooka and Laylee are able to expand its contents by collecting additional Pagies, revealing new structures and elements, providing further opportunities for exploration.
» Expansion of Glitterglaze Glacier
Upon unlocking the world Glitterglaze Glacier, players are given the opportunity to enhance their gameplay experience through the utilization of eight Pagies at the podium located in front of the Grand Tome. This special expansion unveils a multitude of previously concealed structures that significantly enrich the world. Upon entering Glitterglaze Glacier, two Ice Keys materialize in front of corresponding locks, which, once approached by the duo, unlock new areas. Interestingly, the method of unlocking the Icymetric Palace with big frozen keys is a direct homage to the Ice Key discovered in Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie. The first key is situated in front of the big ice castle known as the Icymetric Palace, while the second one is located within the waters of Glitterglaze Lake, leading to the palace as well. This provides two distinct pathways for entry. Upon venturing inside the Icymetric Palace, the player’s perspective shifts to an isometric view and the structure unfolds as a maze arrangement of interconnected sections and doorways, occasionally leading back to the entrance where Vendi can be found. Throughout the Icymetric Palace, a plethora of collectibles such as the Butterfly Extender and Arcade Token await discovery, alongside multiple Pagies that are predominantly confined within cages. Serving as the largest area, the Icymetric Palace is also home to the world’s boss called Brrreeze Blok, who manifests within the character Burnie. The chilling presence of Brrreeze Blok hampers the ignition of Burnie’s fiery essence, that would typically activate the vents scattered throughout the Icymetric Palace, releasing warm air to either melt ice obstacles or enable Laylee’s Glide technique for accessing elevated areas.

PAGIES
Pagie #01: The world’s initial Pagie can be located to the right of Trowzer. Perform the Buddy Slam to activate a button, subsequently initiating an Obstacle Course. Successfully navigate through the Obstacle Course within the designated time limit to attain this valuable Pagie.
Pagie #02: The subsequent Pagie in Glitterglaze Glacier is confined within a cage next to the entrance to the Crystalline Caves. You’ll need to use the Sonar Shot ability to hit the crystals in the sequence center, bottom, top, left, right, bottom left and bottom right to free the Pagie.
Pagie #03: Upon discovering the Gloomy Gem Grotto, make it through the labyrinth until you reach the end. At the labyrinth’s conclusion, a Pagie will be confined within a cage. Activate a switch simultaneously with the grid to free it, which serves as a shortcut for the protagonists.
Pagie #04: Near Trowzer, you’ll find Kartos who requires your assistance. Accept his request and participate in a mini-game where you must collect 100 gems. Be cautious of barrels and enemies as losing 5 gems each time will hinder your progress in earning a Pagie as reward.
Pagie #05: In close proximity to Kartos, atop a hill, lies a valuable Pagie, where you must use the Buddy Slam ability to activate the buttons. Now use Yooka’s Slurp State technique on the box containing cannonballs, and ascend the hill to discover a Pagie confined within a cage.
Pagie #06: Within the vicinity of Kartos, you will find numerous Mr. Blowys situated on moving platforms. Simply utilize the platforms to traverse and retrieve the Pagie but exercise caution to ensure the platforms do not obstruct any Mr. Blowys, thus preventing any accidental falls.
Pagie #07: Kartos can be found on the far side of the lake, adjacent to a wind puzzle. Initiate a mine cart area by engaging in conversation with Kartos and accumulate 100 gems during this section to receive a Pagie. Exercise vigilance to avoid collisions with objects or enemies.
Pagie #08: Upon encountering Planker on the opposite side of the water where Trowzer was initially found, you’ll spot another valuable Pagie enclosed in a cage. Use Yooka’s Slurp State technique to launch grenades at the blocks on the center platform, allowing you to collect it.
Pagie #09: Within Glitterglaze Glacier, you’ll encounter Clara Lost, the Skeleton Explorer, who requires assistance. Some Corplets have pilfered her pot, necessitating the use of the Buddy Slam to dismantle their igloos. Once done, you’ll obtain a Pagie as a reward for your efforts.
Pagie #10: Once you’ve expanded Glitterglaze Glacier, proceed to the Icymetric Palace and continue through the left-hand doors. Eventually, you’ll arrive at an elevator, where you have to remain on it until it reaches its final destination, where you will discover a valuable Pagie.
Pagie #11: Within the Icymetric Palace, a maze room awaits with a series of doors that must be traversed to proceed. Once done, move the ice block into the sunlight, and subsequently perform Yooka’s Camo Cloak technique to emit a laser and release the Pagie from its cage.
Pagie #12: A Pagie within the Icymetric Palace presents a Quiz Challenge, where you have to respond correctly to all questions, each of which pertains to objects within the chamber. The chamber has a total of 7 torches, 5 vents, 5 barrels, 4 chests, 3 skulls, 3 crates and 3 pipes.
Pagie #13: Inside the Icymetric Palace is a room that houses an extensive hallway inhabited by enemies resembling moving walls adorned with spikes. You have to either leap over them or use the Glide ability to conquer them and reach the hallway’s end, where a Pagie awaits.
Pagie #14: While submerged underwater, unlock a door by using the expansion’s ice key and venture inside. Ascend and activate a button, followed by using the Sonar Splosion ability on the slumbering totems to open the door at the bottom, where you can collect a Pagie inside.
Pagie #15: Locate a vent in the corner of a room within the Icymetric Palace and use Laylee’s Glide ability to leap up. In a room featuring a bathtub known as Tubbz, use the Buddy Bubble ability while inside the hot tub to generate bubbles, which will facilitate unlocking the Pagie.
Pagie #16: Close to the Glitterglaze Glacier spawn point, a Pagie awaits, where you must use Yooka’s Slurp State move to consume a piece of coal and sit on the braziers along the way to ignite them. Once all braziers are lit, the ice around the Pagie will melt, allowing for collection.
Pagie #17: Across the Icymetric Palace, an outcropping accommodates a Pagie encased in a cage. Use the Flappy Flight technique to reach it, then activate the button using the Buddy Slam ability to complete the Obstacle Course within the designated time and get this Pagie.
Pagie #18: This world showcases five Snowmen, each in search of their missing hat. To assist them, obtain the world’s Mollycool to uncover the buried hats, which are concealed beneath various boulders. Successfully returning all the hats will bestow upon you the coveted Pagie.
Pagie #19: Upon defeating Brrreeze Blok, use the flame brazier near Burnie and re-enter his mouth. Ascend the ramp to the next room, featuring a series of spinning pipes. Successfully navigating this path and reaching the other side will allow the collection of a valuable Pagie.
Pagie #20: Inside a block of ice within the Icymetric Palace is another Pagie. To liberate it, use Buddy Slam on the blue tiles, lowering them and enabling the Pagie to be pushed toward the vent. Defeating Brrreeze Blok will result in the melting of the block, allowing you to pick it up.
Pagie #21: Once you have helped out Burnie, the vents in the Icymetric Palace will emit warm air. In the same room where you encountered Burnie, utilize Laylee’s Glide ability to reach the vent, which will elevate Yooka and Laylee, facilitating the acquisition of another shiny Pagie.
Pagie #22: Upon obtaining the Arcade Token, engage in conversation with Rextro. Following the dialogue, use the machine, thereby initiating the game Glaciators, where you must aim to collect as many Quills as possible within the allocated time to receive a Pagie from Rextro.
Pagie #23: Upon winning over Rextro’s game, Glaciators, for the first time, he’ll challenge you to surpass his high score. In this instance, you must achieve a score of more than 1400 points in the game. If successful, Rextro will reward the protagonists with an additional shiny Pagie.
Pagie #24: Find Kartos lurking in the shadows behind Trev the Tenteyecle’s edifice. Succumb to his plea for aid and embark on a mini-game replete with perils, all while amassing no less than 125 gems. Triumph over the ensuing obstacles and you will be rewarded with a Pagie.
Pagie #25: To receive this valuable Pagie of Glitterglaze Glacier, you must find and collect all two-hundred Quills that are scattered throughout the world. Once you have collected the last Quill, you will be rewarded with another Pagie that is automatically added to your inventory.

GHOST WRITERS
Ghost Writer #01: Prior to reaching the frigid cave, there is a blazing stove that offers warmth by consuming the coals. Proceed through this cavern and ignite all the extinguished coals by leaping onto them, allowing you to get the red Ghost Writer on one of the elevated platforms.
Ghost Writer #02: Continuing from Trowzer’s place, you’ll find platforms running alongside the cliff’s edge that lead to underwater ruins. Dive down the water and you’ll hear the blue Ghost Writer giggling, where you have to use the Sonar Shot technique to uncover and retrieve it.
Ghost Writer #03: In the Igloo Cliffs region, there is a river directly ahead, featuring a wooden bridge, where you must swim past the bridge and venture into the submerged cavern. Once inside, you will find the green Ghost Writer on an icy patch that you must chase to acquire it.
Ghost Writer #04: It can be found within a compact recess situated in the far left tower of the Glittertrio Towers. Use Sonar Splosion to liberate the pink Ghost Writer, and eat the grenade berry located in the adjacent tower to nourish it, thus enabling you to acquire the collectible.
Ghost Writer #05: Use Yooka’s Slurp State ability on the fire near the Ice Cavern and proceed along the path located to your left, ascending the platforms. Eventually, you’ll come across a wall of fire, where you must walk through the flames to spot the world’s Yellow Ghost Writer.
EXTRAS
Arcade Token: Inside the Icymetric Palace, there’s a hidden path at the back where you first encounter Rextro, leading to a room filled with Arcade Tokens, but be cautious! All but one of them are counterfeit and choosing the wrong one will result in the loss of a Butterfly Health.
Power Extender: Follow the path and pass through the opening into Crystalline Cave. As you enter, you will notice a slope ahead of you, with two paths branching off. The Power Extender is found on your left and can be accessed by veering to the right and slurp up a cannon ball.
Butterfly Extender: Once you’ve unlocked the expansion for this world, make your way to the upper section of the Icymetric Palace. After defeating the boss, soar up through the heating vent located at the entrance and jump across the platforms to reach the Butterfly Extender.
Mollycool: Go to the section beyond the water where Planker is found and use Reptile Roll to reach the right-most platform with a grenade bush on it. Utilize Yooka’s Slurp Shot to ingest a grenade, then roll towards the middle platform and fire at the cracked rock for the Mollycool.
Pirate Treasure: To discover the Pirate Treasure in Glitterglaze Glacier, enter the Gloomy Gem Grotto below the water near Trowzer. Navigate the Obstacle Course until reaching a Corplet Punisher, where you must use Flappy Flight to get the treasure perched on a tall rock above.
