Glowbos are a rare collectible that appear for the first time in the game Banjo-Tooie, where these small magical pink creatures play a crucial role in the game by granting special abilities to both Humba Wumba and Mumbo Jumbo, the game’s shamans. Glowbos are designed to replace the Mumbo Tokens, a feature found in the first Banjo-Kazooie game, while there exist two Glowbos in each world that players can collect, one for each shaman. Fortunately players can easily locate them in proximity to the respective shaman’s dwelling. Additionally there is one Mega-Glowbo in Banjo-Tooie, locked inside a frozen vault and hidden in a cave of Hailfire Peaks, that is accessible through Glitter Gulch Mine. Once inside the small cave, players will find a frozen vault, which can be opened using the ice key of Stop ‘n’ Swop. This will reveal the Mega Glowbo, an item that can be taken to Humba Wumba in Pine Grove in order to transform Kazooie into a dragon. Kazooie’s Dragon Form allows players to spit fire and carry an unlimited supply of Fire Eggs, which can be a useful asset when challenging enemies and completing quests throughout the game. Glowbos also appear in the game Banjo-Pilot, where players can find them on specific tracks. When shot with the plane’s gun, a series of boost rings appear and the player must hit each one for the next to appear up to a maximum of four rings. In this game, an even rarer type of Glowbo is the Green Glowbo, which when shot, produces a yellow boost ring that automatically propels the player all around the track. In Banjo-Kazooie Nuts & Bolts, a Jinjo requests that Banjo and Kazooie retrieve a Glowbo he accidentally dropped into a pool while walking on the volcano in Nutty Acres. Unlike the Glowbos found in Banjo-Tooie, this Glowbo is static and does not move. Overall, the Glowbos provide a fun and engaging gameplay element to the Banjo-Kazooie franchise, enabling players to explore new sections and interact with the game’s characters in unique ways like Stonies.
