Ice Egg

Ice Eggs are a valuable addition to Kazooie’s arsenal of ammunition in Banjo-Tooie. These eggs which are taught by Jamjars on the Cliff Top in the Isle o’ Hags, come in handy when dealing with smaller, fast-moving enemies as well as bosses that are harder to hit with slower attacks. At first Kazooie can carry up to fifty of these Ice Eggs and can fire two at a time. When using an Ice Egg on an enemy, they will freeze in its tracks, while leaving it vulnerable to follow-up attacks such as the Grenade Eggs. In addition to their effectiveness in combat, Ice Eggs have several other uses throughout the game. For instance, they can be used to extinguish tall fires that block Banjo and Kazooie’s path like those found in the Bonfire Cavern in Terrydactyland, the game’s fifth playable world. They can also freeze the Octopi located in Atlantis and the fans in the water supply pipes in Jolly Roger’s Lagoon. Moreover, they are used to power up the alien spaceship in Jolly Roger’s Lagoon and to deal damage to fire-based enemies such as Hothands and Chilli Billi found in the game’s seventh world, Hailfire Peaks. It is worth noting that Kazooie’s Ice Eggs can also come in handy when Banjo and Kazooie are low on health, as defeating an enemy that is encased in ice will almost always result in the enemy dropping a Honeycomb. In Banjo-Pilot, Ice Eggs are used as a defensive item, serving a role similar to the Banana item in the Mario Kart series. Instead of being fired, they form ice cubes that float in the air wherever they are deployed. These ice cubes can cause racing opponents to crash if they fly into them, but also block incoming Fire Eggs and Saucers of Peril. Overall, Ice Eggs are a useful type that shouldn’t be overlooked by players.
