JuJu, alternatively spelled as Ju-Ju, is a towering totem pole composed of four distinct segments that stands prominently at the heart of Mumbo’s Mountain village in Banjo-Kazooie. The effigy is owned by the shaman, Mumbo Jumbo, who’s a prominent character in the game. JuJu’s voice is represented by a modified version of Mumbo’s speech that sounds more deep. When Banjo and Kazooie come across JuJu, they are notified of his craving for blue stones. The challenge for the heroes is to successfully fire a Blue Egg at JuJu when he rotates so that it lands in his mouth. The first segment of JuJu disappears upon consumption of a Blue Egg, causing the next segment to collapse. With every subsequent segment, the speed of rotation increases, presenting an added level of difficulty. Upon feeding all four segments of JuJu, they dissolve entirely, and a golden and shiny Jiggy appears in the center of the grassy platform. Should the player exit and re-enter the world Mumbo’s Mountain, they will reappear on the platform in Mumbo’s Village. It is noteworthy that an Extra Honeycomb is floating high above JuJu’s segments. Banjo and Kazooie can reach the Extra Honeycomb by launching a Blue Egg into each segment, excluding the last one. Once the last segment reaches the ground, Banjo and Kazooie must jump onto it and use the Flap Flip ability learnt from Bottles the mole in order to reach the Extra Honeycomb floating in the air.
