Leg Spring

The Leg Spring is a useful technique featured in Banjo-Tooie, the second installment of the game franchise. Players can acquire the Leg Spring ability from the instructor Jamjars, located on the second floor of Grunty Industries. To obtain it, players have to navigate through a room filled with green poisonous water and make their way up to the central pillar. By using the Split Up Pads on the pillar players can switch to Kazooie and interact with Jamjars’ Hatch, requiring a minimum of 545 Musical Notes. The Leg Spring is a variant of the Flap Flip technique and grants Kazooie the ability to jump significantly higher without the additional weight of her friend Banjo. This makes it a valuable technique for reaching elevated sections. Executing the Leg Spring follows the same procedure as the Flap Flip by simply crouching with the Z button and pressing the A button. For instance, in the location where the Leg Spring is obtained, players can utilize this ability to reach a high alcove where a Jinjo can be collected. Furthermore, players can combine the Leg Spring ability with other useful techniques from Kazooie, such as the Glide technique obtained in the Icy Side of Hailfire Peaks. This combination enables Kazooie to access distant locations that would otherwise be inaccessible with her Feathery Flap or Glide ability alone. This combination proves particularly useful in the fourth world, Jolly Roger’s Lagoon, where an alcove containing a Jinjo is situated far across the town. Typically, players would need to pay Captain Blubber a Doubloon in exchange for a wooden crate containing the White Turbo Trainers, allowing them to run on water and reach the alcove. However, by leveraging the Leg Spring ability in conjunction with the Glide ability, they can reach the alcove without having to hand over a Doubloon to Captain Blubber.
