Lord of Games, or L.O.G. for short, is a prominent figure in the video game Banjo-Kazooie Nuts & Bolts. L.O.G. embodies the concept of video games as a whole and is considered an all-powerful deity. He claims to have been instrumental in the creation of every video game in existence, and he has his own game factory where he designs them. In the game’s storyline, L.O.G. organizes a special contest between the protagonists, Banjo and Kazooie, and the antagonist, Gruntilda, for the deed to Spiral Mountain. The winner would be granted ownership of the mountain, while the loser would be forced to work in L.O.G.’s game factory for eternity. All of the worlds featured in the game were created by Lord of Games himself, and they are artificial environments that exist only in the game. Lord of Games is depicted as a tall character dressed in a long, mauve robe, with a floating, golden cathode ray tube monitor serving as his face. His face is actually a green screen displaying a screenshot of a parody of the game Pong, complete with two paddles, a ball, and a screen divider. His eyes are represented by the paddles, while his mouth is symbolized by either the ball or the speaker at the bottom of the screen. Two mice with USB tails crawl around Lord of Games, and claims at a certain point of the game that only they can understand him. Despite his seemingly aloof and domineering personality, L.O.G. is shown to be fair. He even gives Gruntilda a new body to level the playing field in the contest. Lord of Games also has extensive knowledge of the first two games in the Banjo-Kazooie franchise, and he references characters and worlds from those games in his quizzes in the last Jiggy-Challenge. As an omnipotent character, Lord of Games possesses numerous abilities such as teleportation, the ability to pause the entire game without being affected, and the power to transform characters into different forms. He can also create entire areas, such as the playable worlds accessed from Showdown Town. At one point in the game, he even threatens to reduce Banjo and Kazooie to basic pixels. In Banjo-Kazooie Nuts and Bolts, Lord of Games makes his first debut in the location Spiral Mountain, where he pauses the game and turns the evil witch and the protagonists into a frog and a pumpkin. He then sends both of them on a quest to collect scattered items in the mountain. After realizing that his original challenge was pointless, he sends Banjo, Kazooie and Gruntilda to Showdown Town and sets up the entire contest for the Spiral Mountain deed. Throughout the game, Lord of Games maintains a neutral stance, although he later admits to not wanting Gruntilda Winkybunion to win. After the final challenge, L.O.G. pauses the game and teleports Gruntilda Winkybunion and Piddles to his game factory. He then awards six Jiggies to Banjo and Kazooie for completing his Six of the Best task, involving a trivia quiz. Finally, he gives the Spiral Mountain deed to them, restores all of their abilities from the previous two games, and gifts them a special vehicle that looks like Banjo.
