Mr. Fit, a charismatic aardvark, is a character who made his first appearance in the video game Banjo-Tooie. Despite his rotund design, he is surprisingly agile and athletic, living up to his name in every way. Mr Fit’s passion for sports is on full display in Cloud Cuckooland, the game’s eighth world, where he challenges the protagonists to participate in three grueling sporting events. The first event sees him set a high located bar for Banjo and Kazooie to jump over, with his personal best record serving as the standard. The bar is set so high that the heroes must use the Springy Step Shoes in order to leap over it landing on a precarious red jelly. Though disappointed with his loss, Mr. Fit graciously invites the dynamic duo to the next event. In the second event, Mr. Fit sets a more treacherous challenge by challenging them to a sack race over the path of thorns. Banjo must split up and return alone with the Sack Pack techinque, with Mr. Fit providing a shortcut to the finish line. However, it proves to be a double-edged sword, as it’s extremely narrow, making it hard for Banjo to stay on track without falling into the depths of Cloud Cuckooland. Players must use their quick thinking, sharp reflexes, and exceptional skills to overcome this tricky obstacle. In the final event, he challenges the protagonists to a footrace, but his exceptional speed makes it impossible for the heroes to win. Players must once again use the Split-up pads to switch over to Kazooie and return with the White Turbo Trainers. Alternatively, players can use the Superbanjo Cheato Code to play as Kazooie alone or as Banjo and Kazooie with White Turbo Trainers. When Kazooie crosses the finish line first, Mr. Fit graciously admits defeat and awards the protagonists with a rare Jiggy, marking their victory. It is worth noting that Mr. Fit proudly sports the Rare logo on the sole of his shoe, a nod to the game’s developer. In Banjo-Kazooie Nuts & Bolts, his voice is louder compared to the game Banjo-Tooie, where he communicated primarily through hums.
» Mr. Fit in Banjo-Kazooie Nuts & Bolts
Mr. Fit makes a triumphant return in the game Banjo-Kazooie Nuts & Bolts, playing an expanded role as a host for Jiggy-Challenges across multiple playable worlds in the game. He can be seen running around in a set path in the hub world Showdown Town, and when he stops, he offers the protagonists a Trapdoor Tower combination so he can buy a pair of sneakers. Players can even catch up with him on foot, as they run slightly faster than Mr.Fit. Moreover, he still sports his iconic purple track suit, which he wears with pride. Apart from his appearances in Showdown Town, he also appears in the worlds Nutty Acres, Banjoland, Jiggoseum, and Terrarium of Terror. In Nutty Acres, Mr. Fit takes on the role of a mechanic on the farm, and seems to be the only one, besides Humba, who takes their job seriously. He wears a green suit in Nutty Acres, though his pants are noticeably muddy from his hard work. Mr. Fit hosts Jiggy-Challenges in the fourth, fifth and sixth Act, starting with a request for protection on his jog around the island before challenging players to gather more coconuts than him. In the sixth Act, Mr. Fit hosts a thrilling water race against the entire farm staff. Also, Mr. Fit’s personality remains consistent with his previous appearances, still a braggart, while also being increasingly paranoid about the Gruntbots. He shares a rivalry with the supportive character Trophy Thomas, as the two compete for the coveted Farmhand of the Year Award. In Jiggoseum, Mr. Fit plays the role of a greeter, waiting at the kickball field, despite never being seen at the front door. In this world, he wears a green jumpsuit with a Jiggy on it and hosts Jiggy-Challenges in the second, third, fifth and sixth Act. He challenges Banjo and Kazooie to kick soccer balls into a specific goal, and then needs them to turn on the security cameras for the night. After that he requires the protagonists to drive a Gobi vehicle around the museum, and lastly he asks them to play golf by using a round sheep. Mr. Fit’s paranoid tendencies continue to surface as he expresses his fear of Banjoland at night. Although he likes his job, he is never seen doing it, probably because no one ever visits Banjoland. In the world Terrarium of Terror, he takes on the role of another competitor, wearing a white track jacket and shorts with the British flag on them. He reverts to his competitive self as he engages in another rivalry with Trophy Thomas. He hosts Jiggy-Challenges in the first and third Act, starting with a long jump challenge, followed by a task to fire basketballs through a hoop, but also appearing as a racer in other challenges.
