Mr. Patch is an inflatable dinosaur and entertaining boss, who makes his first debut in the game Banjo-Tooie. Located in the heart of the game’s third world, Witchyworld, players have to acquire four hidden tickets in order to enter the Big Top tent where Mr. Patch is waiting. These tickets can be found by defeating the Fruities, also known as the killer slot-machine monsters, that surround the entrance to the Big Top. It’s worth noting that standard attacks won’t have any impact on the Fruities, so players must employ either Grenade Eggs, Clockwork Eggs, Kazooie’s Bill Drill or the van transformation from Humba Wumba to beat them. Once players obtain all tickets, they must also learn the Airborne Egg Aiming from Jamjars, who is located behind the Big Top, before they can enter the Big Top. With these requirements fulfilled, players can finally enter the tent to face the inflatable dinosaur, Mr. Patch. Upon entering the tent, players will initially encounter Mr. Patch on the ground, and at first he may seem like nothing more than an uncomfortable seat. However as players approach him, he inflates himself and starts a dialogue with them. Although Mr. Patch seems reluctant to fight, Kazooie’s insults about his tiny size provoke him to challenge them to a battle. As the battle begins, players will need to be strategic and patient, as Mr. Patch is no easy opponent. He has a range of various moves and can quickly become a dangerous foe if players can’t dodge his explosive beach balls. However, with skill and perseverance, players are able to successfully defeat Mr. Patch and claim victory in this entertaining and exciting boss battle.

» Battle Procedure

During the battle with Mr. Patch, players must employ strategic tactics to defeat this formidable boss. The key to success lies in popping all twelve of his patches by shooting them with Grenade Eggs. At the start of the fight, players will be on the ground and must aim their first shot at one of his patches. Once the first patch is hit, Mr. Patch will summon a red boxing glove, which will patrol the ground and make it difficult for players to land another perfect hit. To avoid the boxing glove and continue the battle, they must quickly make their way to the Flight Pads that have spawned on the left and right sides of the Big Top. From the air players must use their Airborne Egg Aiming ability, learnt from Jamjars, to shoot Mr. Patch’s remaining patches. Meanwhile, he will unleash a barrage of exploding beach balls from his mouth, making it even more challenging for players to land their shots. As the patches are popped, he’ll shrink in size, while becoming faster and more difficult to hit. Although Kazooie’s Beak Bomb technique can be used to pop his patches, it’s not advised as it’s a lot harder to hit the patches with this attack. Luckily, Red Feathers and Grenade Eggs can be found around the Flight Pads on the ground, allowing players to refill their supplies as needed. Once all twelve patches have been successfully popped, he’ll deflate completely and leave a Jiggy behind. Furthermore it’s essential that Banjo and Kazooie stay focused and patient during this battle, as Mr. Patch’s explosive beach balls become more harder to dodge, while they slightly chase them, depending on Mr.Patch’s health points. However, with careful planning and precise aim, the protagonists can emerge victorious and claim his golden Jiggy as a reward.

» Mr. Patch in Banjo-Kazooie Nuts & Bolts

In the world of Nutty Acres in Banjo-Kazooie Nuts and Bolts, players are introduced to Mr. Patch an inflatable dinosaur boss, in the world’s fifth act. Mr. Patch is first encountered in the challenge Old Dog, New Tricks, where it becomes apparent that the wicked witch Grunty has reinflated him to cause chaos and destruction. After interacting with Humba Wumba, she informs players that Nutty Acres has been peaceful lately. However, Mr. Patch’s looming presence casts a shadow on the coconut plants below, blocking the sunlight, causing the plants to wither and die. During the challenge, Mr. Patch is restrained, chained to the ground, and unable to attack. Nevertheless, he is aided by a swarm of Gruntbots in planes, which attempt to distract and attack players. In this challenge, players must pop all of Mr. Patch’s patches that are scattered on his body, just like in Banjo-Tooie, to rid the island of his presence. Following this encounter, players have to face him again as a boss in the sixth act in the game’s third world, Banjoland. Gruntilda has reinforced his entire skin with metal, rendering him even more difficult to defeat. In addition, all his patches are also protected, making him immune to any form of attack. To defeat him, players must utilize the Cactus O’ Strength, a giant cactus with sharp spikes that appeared in Witchyworld. This requires players to use an air vehicle to push him three times into the cactus’s spikes and inflict damage to Mr.Patch. Also, his battle requires careful planning, precise execution, and strategic tactics as players must dodge the attacks of Mr. Patch and maneuver their vehicle in a manner that allows them to push him inside the cactus spikes to emerge victorious and claim their rewards.
