Mumbo’s Mountain, the first world in the Banjo-Kazooie game, is a stunning location that sets the tone for the adventure ahead. This idyllic location can be accessed through Gruntilda’s Lair, the overworld that serves as the game’s hub. It is a relatively simple world that helps players become familiar with the game mechanics before moving on to more tricky worlds. Mumbo’s Mountain is home to Mumbo Jumbo, a pink-skinned shaman who offers the player valuable transformations that are necessary to collect certain Jiggies and other rare collectibles that can’t be obtained in the normal form. The world is dominated by a giant ruin at the top of the hills and platforms that hold various rare collectibles such as Musical Notes, Jinjos, and Jiggies. Upon entering the world Banjo and Kazooie spawn on a platform near a lake that is topped by an old bridge. There, they can find some Musical Notes and rescue a blue Jinjo sitting on a small pillar next to the wooden bridge. In Mumbo’s Mountain, Banjo and Kazooie can learn up to three new abilities from Bottles the Mole, including Egg Firing, Beak Buster, and Talon Trot. The last one is particularly useful as it allows players to climb steep hills. In order to unlock Mumbo’s Mountain, players must complete the puzzle of the world located to the right of the entrance door. Its puzzle requires a Jiggy, which can be found on the green pillars next to Gruntilda’s Lair entrance. In Mumbo’s Mountain, players will find Mumbo’s Skull, where Mumbo Jumbo’s transformation service can be used to become a termite. This special transformation allows Banjo and Kazooie to climb steep slopes like Ticker’s Tower without falling off the slopes, or walk underwater and find collectibles without losing air.
» Mumbo's Mountain in Banjo-Kazooie Nuts & Bolts
The first world of Banjo-Kazooie, Mumbo’s Mountain, is a beloved location for many players, and elements of it have been recreated in the game Banjo-Kazooie Nuts and Bolts in the third world called Banjoland. This special world provides a fun and nostalgic trip down memory lane for fans of the original game. For instance, players can find the old Stonehenge Ruins near Boogy’s Igloo complete with the slope leading up to it, although this version is significantly larger compared to the original game. Furthermore, at the top of the Stonehenge Ruins, players can collect Musical Notes as they could in Banjo-Kazooie. Other elements from Mayahem Temple also appear in this section, such as the Kickball Pitch, the Golden Goliath, and the boss Targitzan. These details add depth and variety to the world Banjoland and make it a fun experience for both newcomers and proplayers. Interestingly, data miners have discovered an unused game element in the folder of Banjo-Kazooie Nuts and Bolts. An audio file exists in the game’s folder that sounds like a remake of Mumbo’s Mountain. Some players assume that Rare may have been planning to recreate the entire location and use it as a world created by Lord of Games, along with Jiggy-Challenges.

JIGGIES
Jiggy #01: Stand on one of the orange switches until Conga starts to throw an orange in your direction and dodge his attack before the orange hits the ground. Repeat this action on the other switches and a Jiggy will appear on the last switch that gets hit by an orange.
Jiggy #02: Head over to Conga’s area and climb up his tree to pick up an orange, which you must bring over to Chimpy to receive a Jiggy in exchange for the orange. In addition, he will make the platform below him to rise, allowing the Duo to reach the slopes on the wall.
Jiggy #03: Near Bottles, where you’ll learn the Egg Shooting technique, there is a platform in front of Conga. Shoot him with Blue Eggs and try to avoid his oranges, and repeat this action a total of three times to make Conga surrender and reward Banjo and Kazooie with a Jiggy.
Jiggy #04: This Jiggy is located at the top of the green mountain known as Mumbo’s Village and can be found in the right eye of Mumbo’s Skull. To reach it, Banjo and Kazooie must use the Flap Flip technique, which they have learnt in Spiral Mountain and aim for the alcove.
Jiggy #05: Walk up the green hill and find Bottles in Mumbo’s Village, who is next to Mumbo’s Skull to learn the Beak Buster. Once done, stand on one of the straw huts that are scattered around and perform the technique to break it, while the last one you’ll break holds a Jiggy.
Jiggy #06: On the opposite of Mumbo’s Village, there is an old ruin at the top of a hill, while in the center of the ancient Stonehenge Ruins a platform with a Jiggy on it can be found that is next to a molehill, where Bottles teaches Banjo and Kazooie the Talon-Trot technique.
Jiggy #07: Fire eggs into the mouths of Mumbo’s totems known as Jujus, while each time you hit one of them, the current segment disappears and the whole totem starts to spin faster. As soon as all totems disappeared, another Jiggy will spawn in the center of the platform.
Jiggy #08: First, find all the Mumbo Tokens of Mumbo’s Mountain and head over to Mumbo’s Skull to transform the Duo into a termite. As soon as the Duo got transformed head over to Ticker’s Tower and walk all the way up until you reach the top, where you can find a Jiggy.
Jiggy #09: To earn this Jiggy, you have to find and collect all five different colored Jinjos that are hidden in the world Mumbo’s Mountain. Once you’ve found and collected the last Jinjo of this world, they will reward you with another Jiggy that can be picked up on the ground.
Jiggy #10: To get the last Jiggy, head over to Mumbo’s Village and find Bottles who will teach you the Talon Trot technique. Once done, perform the Talon Trot technique to walk down the green hill and keep looking for a platform located in the center of the hill with a Jiggy on it.
