Piddles, a mischievous pink cat, plays a crucial role in Banjo-Kazooie Nuts and Bolts as Gruntilda Winkybunion’s loyal sidekick. The crafty feline was made by Lord of Games as a helpful gesture to Gruntilda, who was trying to stop Banjo and Kazooie from succeeding in their mission. At first Piddles was given to Gruntilda in exchange for the Magic Wrench which Lord of Games provided to the protagonists. However, Gruntilda’s initial reaction to Piddles wasn’t what was expected, as she kicked Piddles away. Piddles retaliated by attacking her, leading to a somewhat rocky start to their partnership. Over time, Gruntilda and Piddles grew to respect one another, and the pink feline has since become an essential support to Gruntilda’s quest to thwart the duo. Players can find Piddles in various Jiggy-Challenges throughout the game, for instance, the racing challenge of Trophy Thomas in Nutty Acres. In the final challenge against the wicked witch, Piddles mans a turret and provides Gruntilda with assistance by firing eggs or grenades at players. After winning the game, Piddles becomes the ultimate winner, as Gruntilda Winkybunion lost in the game and must comply with Piddles guidance for eternity. She provides commands to Gruntilda in L.O.G.’s Factory, ensuring that the evil wicked witch is always following her orders. Despite being small in size her role is significant and adds an element of fun and excitement to Banjo-Kazooie Nuts and Bolts. Throughout the game, Piddles proves the witch Gruntilda to be a cunning and resourceful sidekick, aiding her in her quest to defeat the protagonists. Despite Piddles initial rocky start with Gruntilda, she has become a vital part and her character adds a playful aspect to the game.

» Piddles as Gruntilda's Sidekick

Piddles makes her first appearance in the game’s first world, Nutty Acres, where players have to race against her. Originally meant to race against Trophy Thomas, Piddles takes his place as his car is being repaired, offering players a chance to earn some Musical Notes, a Jiggy, and even a T.T. Trophy if they perform exceptionally well. She is also a key player in Gruntilda Winkybunion’s nefarious scheme to shut down the Logbox 720 system. Throughout the game, Piddles serves as a supportive weapon against players, using her Egg and Grenade Turret to attack them. Piddles also appears in the final battle in Spiral Mountain, where she rides atop Gruntilda Winkybunion’s broomstick and attacks players with an Egg Turret. However, the protagonists emerge victorious defeating both Gruntilda and Piddles and sending them to L.O.G’s factory. In an unexpected turn of events, a short scene occurs where Piddles talks for the first time in the game appearing to be bossing Gruntilda around. This could be a result of her, no longer serving as Gruntilda’s sidekick although it’s possible that she could make a reappearance in future games given. Additonally, in the mini-game Hero Klungo Sssavesss Teh Universsse, Piddles appears in the background with a more menacing look, directed by Gruntilda to attack Klungo, an ally of Banjo and Kazooie.
