Rusty Bucket Bay is the eighth world in the iconic game Banjo-Kazooie, and it can be accessed through Gruntilda’s Lair. However, it is widely considered as one of the most difficult worlds in the game, especially when compared to the other worlds. The game developers have incorporated various challenging game elements to increase the difficulty such as poisonous water and sharp rotating propellers that can cause players to end up with a defeat. The engine room found inside the Rusty Bucket Ship is a section that players often struggle with, thanks to its several rotating platforms, pipes, and propellers, which can cause players to fall into the depths. In addition, this section is often referred to as the most tricky part of the world, and players are advised to collect all the Musical Notes inside the engine room before attempting to find the others in Rusty Bucket Bay. This strategy helps players avoid the risk of losing their progress and starting over from the beginning. Meanwhile, all the enemies in Rusty Bucket Bay are quite sneaky, such as red rescue buoys or ventilation pipes that attack players when they come too close. Also, the Rusty Bucket Ship has several transparent windows that can be shattered by performing Kazooie’s Rat-a-tat Rap technique, which grants players access to inner sections of the ship, such as the Captain’s Cabin or the Map Room. To unlock Rusty Bucket Bay, the player must first raise the water level in the lobby to complete the world’s puzzle. Rusty Bucket Bay’s puzzle can be found inside a purple pipe that is next to the entrance door and requires twelve Jiggies. Unlike the other worlds, Rusty Bucket Bay does not feature Mumbo’s Skull, which is often used to transform Banjo and Kazooie into different forms, or Bottles, who will teach them additional moves to progress in the game.

» Stop 'n' Swop in Rusty Bucket Bay

In the Banjo-Kazooie franchise, players can uncover a special and mysterious feature known as Stop ‘n’ Swop. This special feature involves six different colored mystery eggs and a large ice key that unlocks various rewards for players in sequel games, including the games Banjo-Tooie and Banjo-Kazooie Nuts and Bolts. Typically, these mystery eggs and the key cannot be found by the player, unless a specific code is entered inside the Sandcastle of Treasure Trove Cove. It can be challenging to enter the correct code, due to its length and one single mistake means the player must start over again from the beginning. Also, it’s worth noting that while entering these codes the platforms on the ground will not change color or play any tune, after players used Kazooie’s Beak Buster. Upon entering the code for Rusty Bucket Bay, they can expect to discover a hidden gem in the Captain’s Cabin, which is the red egg of Stop ‘n’ Swop. The Captain’s Cabin is located inside the Rusty Bucket Ship, and players must shatter the transparent windows using Kazooie’s Rat-a-tat Rap ability to gain access to it. However finding the Captain’s Cabin can be a daunting task for some players, as many are unaware that the secrets of the transparent windows on the Rusty Bucket Ship can be shattered. Once inside the Captain’s Cabin, players can find and pick up the red mystery egg on the bed to the right side, where a Seaman Grublin walks around.

JIGGIES

Jiggy #01: Enter the ship’s Engine Room and hop across when the platform stops for a few seconds. At the end there are three rotating propellers with a Jiggy behind that needs to be slowed down, so the player must press two switches to make them stop and get the Jiggy.

Jiggy #02: First, hit two propeller switches on opposite sides of the farthest fans in the Engine Room to make the propellers behind the ship stop spinning. Once done, the player has sixty seconds to reach the back of the ship and get the Jiggy before they start to spin again.

Jiggy #03: To find the world’s third Jiggy, head over to the Warehouse that is located on the left side of the entrance platform. Enter it through the door or by shattering the transparent window and climb up the crates and planks to find the Jiggy in the bottom right corner.

Jiggy #04: In front of Snacker’s Pool there is a dolphin called Snorkel under the ship’s anchor and needs to be rescued. Follow the chain up to get inside the Anchor Room and press the switch in the last room to rescue Snorkel, who will swim away and leave a Jiggy behind.

Jiggy #05: Once you’ve made it to the yellow crane on the right of the toxic green pool, push the triangle button to raise the cage, holding a Jiggy. Now the player will have sixty seconds to climb up the ladder on the right side and run across the top of the crane to get the Jiggy.

Jiggy #06: At the stern of Rusty Bucket Bay’s ship, the player can find three switches on the ground above three whistles. The right code can be found on the side of the ship, meaning that you must Beak Bust on these switches in the order of 312-111 to let a Jiggy appear.

Jiggy #07: Use the ladder on the second chimney to climb up to a higher level and walk over the bridge to find another ladder. Climb it up and pass the next bridge to find a Shock Spring Pad on the ground and use it to reach the top of the smoke stack with a golden Jiggy on it.

Jiggy #08: First, shatter the transparent window towards the bow of the ship and jump into it to get inside the Captain’s Cabin. Once done, destroy the wooden door of the closet and use Kazooie’s Flap Flip to reach the Jiggy, but beware of the Grille Chompa inside the closet!

Jiggy #09: To receive this Jiggy, you’ve to find and collect all five different colored Jinjos that are hidden in the world Rusty Bucker Bay. Once you’ve found and picked up the last Jinjo of the world, they will reward the player with a Jiggy that can be picked up on the ground.

Jiggy #10: To get the last Jiggy, walk across the right yellow crane and drop down to activate the red button that will cause a box filled with dynamites to fall down. Once done, enter the hole to get inside the bunker, where you must defeat Boss Boom Box to receive his Jiggy.
