Showdown Town is a sprawling and expansive location that serves as the overworld in the video game Banjo-Kazooie Nuts and Bolts. It is conveniently accessible through a large portal located in Spiral Mountain and was created by the illustrious Lord of Games to settle the ongoing conflict between the protagonists and Gruntilda Winkybunion. It boasts an impressive range of points of interest and supportive characters from previous games, along with new ones. One of the most notable attractions in Showdown Town is Boggy’s Gym, where players can train to increase their character’s stats, such as Stamina, Strength, and Speed. Klungo’s Arcade is another fascinating spot, where Banjo and Kazooie can play Klungo’s personal video game, despite some technical hiccups, worth playing to earn small rewards. Furthermore, Trophy Thomas’ building, adjacent to the third world Banjoland, enables the protagonists to collect a Jiggy for every four T.T. Trophies they have earned in Jiggy-Challenges. Located near the dock, the Police Station is also worth a visit, as the protagonists can use their Musical Notes to evade getting chased by the police after breaking a rule in Showdown Town. Additionally, the town features multiple shops where players can purchase blueprints and vehicle parts from Humba Wumba, acquire rare Jiggies from Jolly Doger, or obtain useful information and hints from Bottles. Apart from these attractions, players can also discover portals scattered throughout Showdown Town. Each portal leads to one of the five worlds, featuring at least five acts that players can unlock by collecting enough Jiggies. The highest point of the town hosts L.O.G.’s Video Game Factory, which bears a striking resemblance to a typical arcade machine with a massive joystick and two buttons. The factory is the entrance of the final world, Spiral Mountain, using a yellow colored portal. After downloading the additional content from the Xbox Store, another portal appears behind Mumbo’s Motors, leading to L.O.G.’s Lost Challenges, featuring new Jiggy-Challenges. In the center of Showdown Town, players can find the Jiggy Bank, which they must fill to unlock additional worlds. Lastly, scattered throughout Showdown Town, the protagonists can find various Mumbo Crates. By bringing them to Mumbo Jumbo, they can unlock new vehicle parts, increasing the selection of parts in the game.
» L.O.G.s Video Game Factory
The Lord of Games’ Videogame Factory serves as the headquarters for the Lord of Games, and is found at the highest point of the hub world Showdown Town on a hill. This distinctive factory is shaped like a classic arcade machine, along with a joystick and two red buttons, and features a pixelated image of Lord of Games himself on the screen, which represents his movements in real time. The entire factory’s exterior is constructed of stone and several metallic plates with Jiggies patterned onto them, while the windows, both large and small, are designed in an old-fashioned style. In addition, it’s equipped with many tubes that connect to almost all its parts, and features an unusual huge sphere behind it that changes colors periodically. The viscous liquid that feeds the sphere quickly flows through tubes that reach the ground. On the right side, players can find a Wrench-it Bolt that exempts game globes, necessary to access new worlds. Meanwhile, on the left side, players can access Spiral Mountain’s Jig-O-Vend. The entrance to Spiral Mountain can be found on Lord of Games factory, and this is where the protagonists fall from at the beginning of the game. This door can be accessed once players have accumulated seventy-five Jiggies in the Jiggy Bank, found in the center of Showdown Town. On the sides of the door, players can see the buttons of the Xbox 360 controller. To reach the top of the factory, players must first drive the Trolley up to the red wire near the back of the building and climb to its height. After scaling down the cable, players have to do a complete circuit of the building’s tubes, because the cable is cut and passes electricity through it. Upon passing the front side, players can continue climbing until they reach a cylinder with a wire. By swinging with Banjo and Kazooie, players can reach the top of the factory, where they can find a Mumbo Crate that contains several useful items and a Jiggy Tamperer. By climbing to the highest end and standing there for a while, players can unlock the achievement Head for Heights. The factory appears in the endgame sequence, where Gruntilda and Piddles are shown working tirelessly as slaves. However, it is worth noting that only the witch appears to be putting forth any effort, while Piddles gives Gruntilda Winkybunion commands.
