Snorkel

In Banjo-Kazooie, players have the opportunity to rescue a friendly dolphin named Snorkel from a perilous situation. Snorkel, who is trapped beneath the heavy anchor of the Rusty Bucket Ship in the game’s eight world called Rusty Bucket Bay, implores the game’s protagonists, Banjo and Kazooie, to save him. To free Snorkel, players must venture into the boat through the hole where the massive anchor is lodged, which leads them to the Anchor Room. Upon entering the Anchor Room, players will face a treacherous journey through a small hallway, filled with Grille Chompas that will attack if they come too close. To progress through the small hallway, players can defeat all Grill Chompas using Kazooie’s Rat-a-tat Rap or Wonderwing technique, or avoid their attacks and proceed when they retreat back into their holes. As players proceed further, they eventually reach a room where they’ll encounter Seaman Grublins and a switch on the ground depicting an anchor. To activate the switch, Banjo and Kazooie must use their Beak Buster ability, which pulls the anchor back into the Rusty Bucket Ship and frees Snorkel from his confinement. The grateful dolphin expresses his thanks to the duo by offering them a rare Jiggy. Interestingly, Snorkel also makes an appearance in the game’s sequel, Banjo-Kazooie Grunty’s Revenge, where he can be found in the second world known as Breegull Beach. Snorkel informs Banjo and Kazooie that the door to his home is blocked by something shiny, prompting the heroes to follow him to his sunken pirate ship. Once there players must collect the Jiggy in front of the entrance, allowing Snorkel to enter his abode. In another section of the game, Spiral Mere, Snorkel is found near the entrance and wants to play a short mini-game with the protagonists. The task is to feed him multiple eggs within a limited time frame, while completing this task will reward players with another Jiggy.
