Snowball Form

The Snowball Form is a unique transformation available in the Banjo-Tooie game, which can be used in Humba Wumba’s Wigwam located on the Icy Side of Hailfire Peaks. This transformation allows players to assume the form of a snowball, which they can use in order to roll over enemies and obstacles, making it their only means of defense. Unlike other transformations in the game the Snowball Form has a limited life bar, which consists of five honeycombs. Sustaining damage will cause the protagonists to shrink in size, and players will need to recover by rolling around in thick snow, which replenishes health points and increases their size. The Snowball Form’s size is both an advantage and a disadvantage in Banjo-Tooie. The large and heavy snowball form can activate old and rusty switches, but it can also make it challenging to fit through small doorways in Hailfire Peaks. Because of that, players may have to deliberately take damage to make Banjo and Kazooie smaller and navigate tight spaces. One essential aspect of the Snowball Form is its vulnerability to fire, which causes the protagonists to melt, shrink in size, and take damage. This is integrated to one of the puzzles in Hailfire Peaks, where players must quickly navigate through the Lava Side to activate a rusty switch on the Icy Side, which they can not reach otherwise. It’s worth noting that specific codes from Cheato such as Honeyback and Honeyking, which provide extra health to the game’s protagonists, can hinder players in this form. If players enter Humba Wumba’s Wigwam with more than one hit point left, they may end up being stuck. Therefore, the only reliable way to exit is by using the Warp Pad that can be found next to Humba’s Wigwam.
