Tanktup

Tanktup is a prominent character in Banjo-Kazooie, specifically found in the fourth world known as Bubblegloop Swamp. This large, brown turtle resides on a small platform situated to the right of the Yellow Flibbits realm. Accessing Tanktup requires traversing the perilous piranha-infested swamp using a floating wooden log. Upon approaching the huge turtle, he vocalizes discomfort with his cold feet. Banjo and Kazooie possess the ability to alleviate his discomfort by executing the Beak Buster ability on his four flippers, resulting in a shocked reaction that prompts Tanktup to withdraw them into his massive shell. Grateful for the relief, he expresses his appreciation and subsequently, opens his mouth, ejecting a valuable Jiggy that they can pick up. Additionally, his opened mouth provides access to his giant shell, where a turtle called Tiptup and his choir class can be found. Overcoming all challenges presented by Tiptup, involving the repetition of specific tunes, rewards Banjo and Kazooie with an additional Jiggy. Moreover, within Tiptup’s vicinity, an Extra Honeycomb hovers above a podium, along with six Musical Notes, three situated on each side of the room. Furthermore, adjacent to Tiptup’s podium lies a Mumbo Token, positioned near some Blue Eggs. Notably, on Tanktup’s huge shell, a pair of Wading Boots can be found, allowing Banjo to grab an orange Jinjo positioned behind Tanktup within the piranha-infested swamp. In the sequel game, Banjo-Kazooie Nuts & Bolts, a wooden model of Tanktup is found in the game’s third world, Banjoland. However, it’s mentioned that he is no longer present following the events of Banjo-Kazooie. Interacting with the sign next to the model reveals information indicating that Banjo and Kazooie were previously able to enter Tanktup’s domain in Bubblegloop Swamp after warming his feet and causing him to regurgitate, while his whereabouts are currently unknown.
