Tooty

Tooty is a beloved character in the Banjo-Kazooie franchise, playing an important role in the first installment of the game. As Banjo’s younger sister, Tooty is a brown bear with beautiful blue eyes and blond hair styled in pigtails. Her attire consists of a red shirt with a star emblem and a pair of purple stirrup pants. Tooty’s favorite instrument is the piccolo, and she is known for her outgoing personality and love of adventure, much like her brother Banjo and his friend Kazooie. Tooty lives with Banjo in their humble abode on Spiral Mountain, where the pair spends their days enjoying the weather and adventuring around their home. However their peaceful existence is threatened when the green ugly witch Gruntilda Winkybunion sets her sights on Tooty, kidnapping her out of jealousy for her adorable cuteness. Banjo and Kazooie set out on a mission to save Tooty, facing numerous challenges, enemies and other obstacles along the way. Despite her bravery and love for adventure, Tooty’s character is not without its flaws. Tooty can be quite timid when faced with danger, as evidenced by her trembling when she sees the wicked witch approaching her on her broomstick. However, she rises to the occasion when duty calls, as demonstrated when she tries to alert Banjo and his friend Kazooie to the fact that Gruntilda had escaped and demanded that they finish the job. Her musical talents are also notable, as she is an experienced piccolo player much like her brother Banjo’s musical abilities. In fact, in the original concept of the game, Tooty was named Piccolo and was intended to be Banjo’s girlfriend. While Tooty’s appearances in the Banjo-Kazooie sequels are more or less limited to minor cameos, she remains beloved by fans of the series. Her theme, originally created for Madeleine in Project Dream, was adapted for Tooty’s character and features a flute to match her name and preferred instrument. Moreover, a picture of Tooty can be found inside Banjo’s house, further highlighting her importance to the lore.
