Tribalstack Tropics

Tribalstack Tropics is the first world in the popular game Yooka-Laylee, a lush, forest-like setting complete with many ruins and ancient structures scattered throughout. Accessible through the use of the Grand Tome, a massive, enchanted book found opposite the entrance room of Hivory Towers, Tribalstack Tropics is an excellent starting point for players to become more comfortable with the game mechanics. The world is composed of many towering, floating islands surrounded by dense underbrush, a vibrant waterfall with unique features that players can manipulate with the help of a supportive character named Nimbo, and a huge structure known as the Tribalstack Monument. Within the world, players can use the transformation service provided by Dr. Puzz to speak with plant bulbs, which offer useful information about the world, but also to receive a rare Pagie by completing the pollinate all plant bulbs task. Duke’s Temple, located at the center of the world, resembles the ancient Mayan civilization with its architectural look. Here, players are able to acquire abilities from Trowzer the Snake, including the Sonar Shot, Slurp Shot, and the Buddy Slam ability. Players can find Trowzer’s shop on the second floor of the temple. On the right side of Duke’s Temple, players will discover Rextro’s Arcade Machine, a mini-game that rewards two Pagies upon completion. To unlock the world Tribalstack Tropics, players need to collect at least one Pagie and stand on the podium in front of the Grand Tome. Upon successfully unlocking the Grand Tome, players are granted the ability to utilize their acquired Pagies to expand the book’s contents. With each expansion, new structures and sections of the vibrant Tribalstack Tropics world are generated, enabling Yooka and Laylee to embark on further exploratory adventures.

» Expansion of Tribalstack Tropics

Once players unlock the Grand Tome of Tribalstack Tropics in Yooka-Laylee, they can take their experience to the next step by utilizing three additional Pagies on the Grand Tome’s podium. This expansion reveals previously hidden structures and various other elements that greatly enhance the world. Upon entering the expanded world, players are greeted by a golden Pagie who offers a brief tour of the new additions through a short sequence. One of the most notable additions is the Tribalstack Monument, an intricate structure consisting of several designed floors and rooms where players can discover a treasure trove of collectibles such as Pagies, Quills and the world’s Power and Butterfly Extender. Also it’s surrounded by several small floating islands that serve as a challenge for players to either participate in a short mini-game to receive a Pagie in a cage or to climb up to higher levels of the monument. In addition to the Tribalstack Monument, the world has introduced Rampo’s Temple, a building located to the left of the world’s Grand Tome. Players can climb up the temple to face The Great Rampo, who serves as the world’s boss and provides a Pagie as a reward. Furthermore, players can uncover a hidden Piratue Treasure in this temple which adds an exciting element of mystery to the game. Behind the Tribalstack Village, there is a towering mountain that holds a rare and valuable shiny jewel, which belongs to Shovel Knight, a special character appearance in the game from another popular game. This new addition to the game adds an exciting cross-over element that is sure to delight fans of both Yooka-Laylee and Shovel Knight. Another exciting element is Nimbo’s Mountain, a breathtaking location that offers a unique gaming experience. Players can slurp up with Yooka different berries and use them on Nimbo to change the condition of the Tribalstack Canals, such as freezing the water or removing it, allowing for the acquisition of the Arcade Token of the world. Additionally, Nimbo’s Mountain is home to the red Ghost Writer, which can be found flying around inside a small sandy patch.

PAGIES

Pagie #01: As soon as you enter Tribalstack Tropics, roll up the ramp and look for a character called Nimble, who is a white cloud that wears a red helmet. Talk to her and beat Nimble in a race by using the Buddy Roll ability while collecting butterflies for power to receive a Pagie.

Pagie #02: After obtaining the world’s Arcade Token interact with Rextro and insert the found coin into the Arcade Machine, allowing you to play his game called Kartos Karting. Make your way around the track five times within a certain time limit to be awarded with another Pagie.

Pagie #03: After beating Kartos Karting for the first time, Rextro will challenge you to beat his highscore of 2 minutes and 30 seconds. Just investigate again with the Arcade Machine and complete all five laps faster than him and he’ll reward Yooka and Laylee with another Pagie.

Pagie #04: In the center of the world, there are several floating red platforms, which will take you to a sleeping totem that you can wake up with Laylee’s Sonar Shot ability. This will cause some platforms to appear, while the totem behind will open up the cage with a Pagie inside.

Pagie #05: Head into the shadow forest and turn left to find a Pagie piece on the ground. Pick up the second piece on a ledge and the last piece on the side with the two floating platforms and take them back to the Pagie in front of the shadow forest in order to fix and collect it.

Pagie #06: Speak with Sir Scoffsalot in the forest and accept his quest to find his three fellow pig knights throughout the world for a Pagie. The first pig is under the ramp in the village, the second one behind Rextro’s Arcade Cabinet and the last in Rampo’s Treasure Chamber.

Pagie #07: Somewhere there is a narrow almost a hidden path in a wall, which is marked with a torch. Go through it and continue follow the path until you see a blue switch on the ground that you must press to jump through five hoops in time and get rewarded with a rare Pagie.

Pagie #08: Find the world’s Mollycool and head over to Dr. Puzz, allowing the protagonists to transform into a flower, while the first time you do this a character will get your attention. Now talk with her and she will request you to pollinate six flowers nearby in exchange for a Pagie.

Pagie #09: At Duke’s Temple, where you can find Trowzer, are four stone platforms located in each corner that can be destroyed with the Buddy Slam ability. As soon as all four platforms got broken, Duke allows you to participate in a target contest where you can earn a Pagie.

Pagie #10: As soon as you enter the world, roll up the hill, then proceed up the wooden ramp to your right to find a skeleton who is getting boiled in a cauldron called Clara Lost. Talk to her and give Clara protection from the aggressive Corplets to be rewarded with another Pagie.

Pagie #11: On the path past Clara you will find Shovel Knight, who will ask you to continue up the path to find a shiny red jewel for him. On the top of the mountain, look up to see the shiny red jewel in the statue’s eye and use Yooka’s Slurp Shot to grab and exchange it for a Pagie.

Pagie #12: Next to the world’s Grand Tome there is a sleeping totem that you can wake up by using Laylee’s Sonar Shot on it, which will reveal a hidden platform. Jump on it and find more totems as you continue up, while the last platform you ride will move to the Pagie in a cage.

Pagie #13: Start making your way up to Rampo’s Temple, whereupon he will shout a warning from the top to turn back. Ignore his order and continue scaling the building to meet Rampo at the top, where you must defeat him by destroying his teeth to receive this valuable Pagie.

Pagie #14: When climbing up the huge monument after expanding the world, go right when the path first forks. Proceed to the next level to find Kartos and accept his quest to collect at least sixty gems during the following mini-game to receive a Pagie as payment in return.

Pagie #15: At the top of the monument, there is a floating island with some Waterberries on it that you must use with Yooka’s Slurp ability. Jump on the platform near Mr. Blowy and shoot him with water in order to cool him down and receive this Pagie in return for helping him out.

Pagie #16: Make you way up to the top of the big monument and talk to the locked up Pagie inside a cage. Complete his challenge to open the cage by jumping through all hoops before the time runs out. Avoid to attempt killing the wasps and instead try to dodge their stingers.

Pagie #17: After finding Nimbo, use the blue berries on him first to make it rain and after that use the white berries to turn the rain into snow, causing the canals to turn into ice. Now head down to the ground and challenge Nimble to another race on the ice track to get a Pagie.

Pagie #18: Near Kartos you can find some cannonballs, which you can slurp up to make you heavy. Once done, walk to the right and pass all the blowing vents in order to find a Pagie in a cage. Interact with the Pagie so he will unlock the cage for you, allowing you to collect him.

Pagie #19: At the top of the Tribalstack Monument you can find Blastooie the cannon, where you must first talk and accept his request to give his friends some presents. Now use Yooka’s Buddy Slam on his back and destroy the Blowies in front of him to earn a Pagie as a reward.

Pagie #20: There is a small pool filled with water at the base of the Monument, where you can use the Buddy Bubble ability to press the switch on the ground and open a gate. Inside, find a switch to deactivate the current and activate the second one to free a Pagie in the cage.

Pagie #21: Near Duke’s Temple you can find a puzzle that waits to be solved. First, shoot the I.N.E.P.T. sentry with ice and then look at the five hieroglyphics above the platform. Simply try to find those symbols in time on the grid and slam them in the correct order to free a Pagie.

Pagie #22: Enter the Tribalstack Monument from its front entrance after expanding the world Tribalstack Tropics and go invisible to make it through the motion sensor gate. Walk past the I.N.E.P.T. sentries and make your way through the big monument to find and collect a Pagie.

Pagie #23: To receive this Pagie of Tribalstack Tropics, you’ve to find and collect all five Ghost Writers that are scattered throughout the world. Once you’ve collected the last Ghost Writer in this world, you’ll be rewarded with a Pagie that is automatically added to your inventory.

Pagie #24: Once you’ve learnt Laylee’s Flappy Flight ability, return to Tribalstack Tropics and fly above Duke’s Temple, where you can find Planker, who is in a bad mood. In the air you can see normal pages fluttering in the wind, while one of them is a Pagie, that you can collect.

Pagie #25: In order to earn the last Pagie of Tribalstack Tropics, you must find and collect all two-hundred Quills that are scattered throughout the world. Once you have collected the last Quill, you will be rewarded with another Pagie that is automatically added to your inventory.

Ghost Writer #05: As soon as you enter the world Tribalstack Tropics simply turn around and jump off the ledge through an archway. On the ground below, turn back around and you will see an alcove in the wall with the yellow Ghost Writer inside who is waving towards the duo.
