Walrus Form

The Walrus Form is a unique transformation that can be obtained in Banjo-Kazooie, specifically in the game’s fifth world, Freezeezy Peak. It’s pivotal in Freezeezy Peak and offers players unique actions that are not possible in their default form. In order to use the Walrus Form, players must visit Mumbo Jumbo, the game’s shaman, and pay him fifteen Mumbo Tokens for his services. As soon as the transformation is complete, Banjo and Kazooie take on the appearance of a brown walrus, giving them the ability to traverse icy terrains and swim in frigid waters without suffering any harm. Also, the Walrus Form is vital to the completion of various challenges within Freezeezy Peak. For instance in the first race against Boggy, players have to compete as a walrus because he claims that the sled available to the protagonists is too small for them to ride. By winning the race, players are rewarded with a golden Jiggy, and are given the opportunity to compete again as Banjo and Kazooie for another Jiggy. In addition, the Walrus Form is required to earn a Jiggy from Wozza the Walrus, who is timid and runs away when approached by Banjo and Kazooie in their normal form. The transformation allows players to walk up to Wozza, making him excited as he believes he is meeting another walrus. In gratitude, he gives the players his golden Jiggy and a warning about a nearby smelly brown honey bear and his ugly bird, before retreating back into his cave. Exploration of Wooza’s Cave with Freezeezy Peak’s walrus transformation also reveals an Extra Honeycomb, which can be found by walking through a long tunnel that leads to a small room with a platform surrounded by different colored crystals. In addition, players can enter the cave now as Banjo and Kazooie, allowing them to get up to the alcove behind Wozza. Within this alcove, they can find the orange Jinjo of Freezeezy Peak, along with the mysterious ice key from the Stop ‘n’ Swop series. It can be picked up by entering a long code inside the Sandcastle of the game’s second world, Treasure Trove Cove. While the key has no special use in Banjo-Kazooie, it can be used to unlock rewards in the sequel games of the series, such as the Mega Glowbo and a part that can be used for vehicles, which represents two parts of the Great Britain Flag.
