Snowplough Form

Snowplough Form banner placeholder

Snowplough Form is Dr. Puzz’s transformation for Glitterglaze Glacier in Yooka-Laylee and Yooka-Replaylee. Yooka and Laylee become a small green truck with a broad front blade, black tyres, red wheel hubs and purple trim. The vehicle retains the duo’s eyes and colours, with upright exhausts behind the cab and an open rear section. It drives, jumps and uses Boost to charge through large snow piles, uncovering objects that cannot simply be picked up from the surface. In the original game, its grip also allows it to climb steep icy routes that obstruct the ordinary duo, although steering across the ice remains slippery. Unlocking the Snowplough requires the local Mollycool, hidden behind weak stone on one of the Glittertrio Towers. First learn Slurp Shot from Trowzer in Tribalstack Tropics for thirty Quills. Climb the towers near Planker’s Capital B sculpture and use the Bomb Berry plant on the neighbouring high platform to gain explosive shots. Cross back before the temporary supply expires, go around the tower behind the sculpture area and destroy its cracked wall to reveal the collectible. Bring the Mollycool to Puzz on the shore below the towers, then step onto the D.N.Ray’s platform and interact. Steer with the movement controls, jump between platforms and use the normal Attack input for Boost; on a PlayStation controller, the plough action uses Square. Line up the blade with a snow pile before accelerating so that momentum does not carry the truck over an edge. Contact with water in the original game immediately restores the ordinary duo, requiring another visit to the machine if more snow remains to be cleared. The D.N.Ray stays available after the Mollycool has been delivered, so repeated transformations do not require another collectible. Interact on the platform to change back when the next task needs swimming or the duo’s other moves. Puzz’s second transformation is also a question in the second Quack-Fire Quiz, where the correct answer is written as Snow Plough.

The Five Snowmen’s Missing Clothes

The original Snowplough’s main collectible task is recovering the five items requested by the friendly Snowmen. Four are hats and the fifth is a pair of pants, despite its owner also describing the missing clothing as a hat. Each lies beneath a snow pile that Boost can remove. From Dr. Puzz, enter Crystalline Cave and clear the pile near the three-way division of its paths for the black top hat. Continue through the cave toward the world’s starting area and look near Vendi for the mound containing the cowboy hat. Return to the shore and take the doorway beside Puzz leading to the Igloo Cliffs; the pile beside the stream, before the bridge toward the igloos, contains the pointed witch’s hat. The remaining two items involve the higher icy paths. Drive up the ramp toward Icymetric Palace, turn toward the side ledge at its first level section and ride the floating platform across to the snow pile for the pirate’s tricorn. The green pants are on a high platform among the Glittertrio Towers, reached by following the icy ramps and floating platforms past the sculpture area. Collect the items after breaking their piles; uncovering them alone does not complete their owners’ requests. Gathering all five before changing back avoids repeatedly returning to the machine. Deliver them as the ordinary duo, since the original conversations are not all available to the plough and one owner is reached through water. The witch waits inside Crystalline Cave beside the berry plants and central pillar. The naked snowman is at the upper end of Frozen Path near the Igloo Cliffs approach. Shiver E. Timbers, the pirate, stands on a small lake island below the high paths near the towers. The formally dressed snowman requiring the top hat waits at the outer edge of the igloo settlement. Finally, enter the stream by the igloos and swim through its submerged passage into Glitterglaze Cave to find the cowboy at the back. This is a different room from Crystalline Cave. Each delivery restores its owner’s costume, but the original game gives one shared Pagie only after all five snowmen have been helped. Any of them can be the final recipient. The entire clothing task is available before the Grand Tome is expanded.

Crystalline Cave’s Power Extender and the Igloos

The Snowplough’s climbing ability provides another route to Glitterglaze Glacier’s Power Extender. Return to Crystalline Cave through the shore entrance near Dr. Puzz and turn onto the steep icy slope that the ordinary duo struggle to climb. Drive upward, collecting the six Quills along this approach, and look for the blowing vent partway up. Before crossing its visible gust, steer close around the icy pillar on the right and onto the small side ledge holding the upgrade. This permanent pickup extends the duo’s power meter; it is separate from the snowmen’s shared Pagie and does not require a clothing delivery. The truck offers a way up from below, while the ordinary duo can also approach the ledge from above using the cave’s other routes. Return down the slope and through the cave when the upgrade has been collected. Its narrow bends are a reason to use Boost selectively: the burst is useful for a snow pile, but sustained speed makes it harder to line up a platform or stop beside a ledge. At the Igloo Cliffs, charging with the blade can also break the igloo structures near Clara and Potty Mouth. This is an optional use of the vehicle rather than an exclusive prerequisite for Clara’s original encounter, since the normal duo can destroy the roofs with Buddy Slam and deal with the enemies released from them. The nearby stream still needs to be crossed carefully while ploughing; falling into it ends the transformation. Change back for the underwater entrance to Glitterglaze Cave and for errands requiring the ordinary move set.

Snow Clearing and Coin Clearer in Yooka-Replaylee

In Yooka-Replaylee, the Glacier’s Mollycool is again hidden among blocks near the towers. Use the Bomb Plant to destroy the breakable blocks, collect it and deliver it to Dr. Puzz nearby. The resulting truck retains Boost and jumping, while its Exit command allows a return to the duo without travelling back to the D.N.Ray. The PlayStation layout shows Square for Boost and R2 for Exit; the Xbox equivalents are X and RT. Shiver E. Timbers now stands on the raised ground beside Puzz, with his missing pirate hat under a snow mound on that same ledge. Jump up, boost through the mound, collect the hat and return it for the Awesome Arrr-tefact Pagie. The remake allows this delivery while transformed and awards the pirate his own reward. The other four snowmen also have separate Pagies and revised item locations: Panthony’s pants are inside an igloo, Plough Roy’s cowboy hat is on a tree-bearing platform along the high ice ramp, Hailey’s witch hat is underwater near an ice tower and Lord Snowmon’s top hat is on an enemy-guarded ice island. The original instruction to plough five specific mounds and complete every delivery for one Pagie therefore does not apply to the remake. The truck’s other major activity is Coin Clearer. Drive up the large ice ramp, break through the snow blocking the wooden bridge and turn left toward the next mound between the rock walls. Clearing it opens the course and shifts the camera overhead. Enter the red Q.U.I.D.S ring, collect all eight red coins before the timer expires and complete the next two rounds as well. All three successful rounds are needed for the Pagie, so keep the truck’s turns controlled around the stone obstacles rather than boosting blindly past a coin. Before leaving this area, clear the snow pile tucked into its corner to uncover a Pagie Piece. It belongs to the world’s set of eight pieces, collected in groups of four to form Pagies, and is a separate pickup from Coin Clearer’s reward. Use Exit when the remaining Glacier tasks require the duo’s swimming, plant states or other abilities.
