Space Outhouse Occupant

Space Outhouse Occupant banner placeholder

The Space Outhouse Occupant is the unseen person calling for help from a locked toilet in Galleon Galaxy. The original Yooka-Laylee encounter takes place among the metal toilet cabins on a small rocky outcrop near Spacecog Station, with the maintenance facility directly below. The occupied cabin has a red riveted door, a round blue porthole, side ventilation panels and a lamp above the entrance. Those features also supply the conversation portrait, since the person speaking from inside never steps out to reveal a body or species. The voice begins by checking whether anyone is outside and asking for help, then explains that the plumbing has failed at a particularly inconvenient moment. Yooka offers assistance, while Laylee takes an interest in the last golden piece of paper remaining in the cabin. Her concern is whether it can be washed before joining their collection. The occupant's predicament therefore brings the duo's hunt for Pagies into an ordinary maintenance problem, with a remote control providing access to the machinery they must repair. Although anxious about the worsening situation, the speaker thanks the visitors and later recognises the work they have done. The encounter continues after the immediate reward through further remarks about the facilities, including a warning against operating the emergency flush too enthusiastically. The character also has a documented voice change from the original game's launch period. Jon Jafari, known as JonTron, recorded an early contribution for the role, but Playtonic announced its removal in March 2017 following his public comments. Updated versions use Andy Wilson's replacement performance. Yooka-Replaylee returns to the premise and identifies the character as Luton, keeping the speaker concealed while revising the plumbing challenge around the remake's equipment.

Restoring Space Plumbing

In the original game, the occupied toilet is reached in the expanded version of Galleon Galaxy. Speak to the person inside before trying to enter the maintenance area: the conversation opens the neighbouring red cabin, whose floor contains the passage down to Space Plumbing. A Quill can be collected at the entrance, with five more along the pipe route below. The machinery is arranged around metal platforms, gates and large disconnected tubes carrying hazardous sewage. A switch near the starting platform operates the flush, but using it before reconnecting the pipes does not solve the problem. The route begins through the pipe to the right, where Sonar Shield protects the duo as they roll through the contaminated channel. Its Power consumption makes the safe platforms useful stopping points rather than places to rush past without looking. Leave the first pipe through the side opening, deal with the enemies on the platform and operate the nearby switch to open a shortcut back towards the entrance. Looking back towards the pipe reveals a loose section with an attachment point; Lizard Lash pulls that section into position. The remaining route continues through the tubes to further platforms and gates, with loose pipe sections that must be pushed into alignment using Reptile Rush. Each repaired connection gives the flush a more complete route through the facility, while the opened gates reduce the distance back to the main control. Once the gaps have been closed, return to the original switch and activate the system. The occupant's relieved response accompanies the restored flushing, and the Pagie appears outside the occupied cabin for collection. Speaking again after taking the reward brings a thank-you and an explanation that the occupant will be staying inside longer. There are further reactions to the facilities as well: visitors are advised to wait a few minutes, and an excessive repeat flush prompts a complaint about creating a dangerous fountain inside the cabin.

Luton in Yooka-Replaylee

Yooka-Replaylee keeps the occupied cabin and underground repair task in Galleon Galaxy, where the challenge is recorded as Toilet Trouble. The character's English name is Luton. After reaching the row of toilet cabins beyond the nearby Mark travel point, speak to the occupant to open the maintenance entrance and follow the coins to the adjoining cabin. The remake provides the equipment for the pipe route through chests inside the facility. Collect the protective force field before entering the dirty water, then pass through the small pipe into the main room. This changes the preparation from the original combination of purchased moves and the duo's Power reserve to using the remake's local tools. One disconnected section has a tongue-grapple attachment; pull it into place to complete the connection and open a gate. Passing through that gate leads along the pipe to another loose section, with a chest of electrified balls nearby. Keeping the protective field active allows the duo to enter the hazardous water and push the large section along its track until it joins the pipe line. A further gate then opens the route back to the starting control. Pressing the switch with the connections restored completes the repair, after which the duo return to the occupied toilet for the Pagie. The remake thus retains the original sequence of asking for access, repairing the machinery and receiving the paper upstairs, while changing the equipment and arrangement of the repair stages. Luton still remains behind the closed door throughout the exchange. His return dialogue includes the relief and bathroom jokes associated with the original encounter, and the remake also gives him a challenge-reset conversation. Choosing to play again resets the activity and supplies additional Q.U.I.D.S, while declining leaves the offer available for a later visit. That replay option belongs to the remake's repeatable challenge system; the initial completion remains the occasion that awards the gold Pagie.
